摘要:
An input device for sewing machines is disclosed which reads from a memory circuit an original sewing pattern which has been already stored, enlarging or reducing the coordinate data of the original sewing pattern in a desired scale, and prepare the coordinate data of sewing points between the flexing points thus obtained by enlargement or reduction in accordance with a desired stitch length data or stitch number data. The input device is adapted to convert the coordinate data of the original sewing pattern to the coordinate data calculated with the central point of a crank member of a work holder with the crank member as the origin and enlarge or reduce the coordinate data of the flexing points other than the starting point and the ending point of sewing in a desired scale, when the original sewing pattern is for a work holder with a crank member.

A sewing machine has an electronic control for the production of at least one stitch pattern consisting of a plurality of different single stitches, with a read-and-write memory RAM for storing in memory at least the single stitches of the stitch pattern and with a feed mechanism whose feed adjustment occurs by a step motor controlled in accordance with the stored data of the read-and-write memory within the inactive phase of the feed mechanism. To carry out a feed variation exceeding the maximum number of steps of the step motor between two predetermined sewing stitches, the control unit contains a comparator which compares the magnitude of the displacement amount of the step motor before the next displacing movement is carried out with a given maximum displacement amount, in order to prevent a stitch formation between the point of insertion of the previous stitch and the desired point of insertion of the next following stitch when the maximum displacement amount is exceded.

In an electronic sewing machine, a pattern data memory has memory locations which are accessed in such a manner that address signals are prepared at random. These random address signals are used as stitch data to produce a specific version of a selected pattern.

A sewing machine system possesses an interactive communication capability allowing for the assignment of stitch patterns with respect to workpieces to be sewn. The workpieces are arranged within pallets having binary codes impressed thereon. The stitch pattern assignments are made in conjunction with the sensing of the binary codes. The workpieces are automatically processed from a location wherein the binary codes are sensed, to a location wherein the pallets are attached to an automatic positioning system. The workpieces are furthermore processed through to an output position when the respectively assigned stitch pattern has been sewn.

A stepping motor control system which uses a closed-loop lead angle control technique wherein a programmably selected lead angle signal is combined with a signal representing the position of a step motor shaft so as to provide a coil state excitation signal for the coils of the stepping motor, the shaft thereof being rotated in response to the coil state excitation signal. The lead angle signal can be modulated in accordance with a selected duty cycle so as to assume two adjacent lead angle values during each modulation cycle. The system can also be arranged to permit the use of open-loop control using a suitably programmed externally supplied coil state excitation signal, the latter being capable of similar modulation as described above with reference to lead angle modulation.

A programmable sewing machine has a stitch memory connected to control the needle and/or the cloth feeder. The stitch memory is addressed by an address counter, which is stepped in response to operation of the machine. The address counter is reversible, and the direction of counting therein and the preseting of an address therein is derived from a seam instruction memory responsive to a pattern selection device.

An automatic sewing machine for forming a desired pattern on a workpiece by means of varying the position of a workholder for holding the workpiece in relation to a needle which is vertically reciprocated due to pattern data stored in advance in memory means. A sewing machine of this type is provided with a manual input device for setting up a numerical limit indicating an allowably movable sphere of the workholder without impacting or interfering with the needle and a controller for calculating a numerical result indicating the movement amount of the workholder in relation to the needle during the pattern forming operation based on the pattern data prior to the pattern forming operation. The controller makes a comparison of the calculated numerical result with the numerical limit set by the manual input means, and generates a signal for warning the operator of the exceeding, if so being the case, of the calculated numerical result over the above-mentioned set numerical limit.

An automatic embroidery or stitch pattern sewing machine provided with a memory for storing plural blocks of cell pattern information respectively including zone data related to figure and location of a triangular or quadrangular zone on which a cell stitch pattern is to be formed, and a manual input device for setting up desired number of stitches to be formed in the zone. Based on the position data stored in the memory and the stitch number data set by the manual input device, a microprocessor connected thereto calculates the position data of the actual stitch forming positions; and a drive mechanism relatively moves the needle and the workpiece according to the position data calculated. Many cell stitch patterns thus formed on the workpiece turns out to be a desired unit stitch pattern such as a letter, symbol and other patterns.

A hydraulic actuator for transversely shifting the relative positions of a needle bar and the backing material in a tufting machine. An electronic pattern control mechanism drives the hydraulic actuator in response to the predetermined stitch pattern information in the electronic control circuit, which determines the amount of relative transverse shifting of the needle bar for each stitch location. A feedback mechanism associated with the hydraulic actuator creates a feedback signal which is compared with a pattern stitch command signal in order to produce an output signal for shifting the hydraulic actuator to a subsequent transverse needle bar position relative to the preceding needle bar position.
