Abstract:
A method and apparatus for providing a phonebook using an image in a portable terminal are provided. The method includes recording contact information in metadata of an image, and performing a linkage function using the image having the contact information recorded therein.
Abstract:
A mobile phone protection case for receiving a mobile phone having an audio output interface to protect the mobile phone from being scratched is provided with the present disclosure. The protection case includes a display screen, an audio signal receiver, and a display control unit. The audio signal receiver is configured to receive an audio signal carrying ID information in relation to a call or both ID information and content of a short message transmitted from the audio output interface of the mobile phone. The display control unit is configured to generate a video signal according to the received audio signal and control the display screen to display the ID information of a call or the ID information and the content of the short message to user of the mobile phone.A mobile apparatus is also provided by the present disclosure.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for reminding and browsing related information of contacts, and a recording medium using the same are provided. In the present method, a communication device displays a contact list comprising at least one contact on a screen thereof. Meanwhile, the communication device checks whether each contact has unread related information and displays an indicating icon on the corresponding contact in the contact list when it is determined that the contact has related information unread, so as to remind a user of the communication device that the contact has unread related information.
Abstract:
Enhanced telephony computer user interfaces seamlessly integrate and leverage the features of personal computers and telephones. The manner in which media is presented at a computing system can also be modified automatically in response to detected telephone operations. These modifications can include pausing media in response to a detected telephone call and/or adjusting a volume of the media presentation. The media presentation/volume can also be resumed/restored upon detecting that the telephone call has terminated.
Abstract:
The present invention aims at offering a mobile communication device allowing the user to identify the sender when the user selects or opens a mail in a mail list by outputting an image and music that have been registered to the address book. Accordingly, when a mail is selected in the mail list of the mail box 401, or when a mail is opened and the mail message is displayed, the received mail display control unit 140 searches a mail address of the sender of the received mail in the address book 301. If the image/music data ID information 303(?) that has been registered in association with the sender of the mail address is present in the address book 301, the received mail display control unit 140 reads image data or music data from the image/music information 302 of the information storage unit 100 based on the image-music data ID information 303. After the brightness of the image is raised so that the image has enhanced contrast, the image is displayed on the display unit 120 as a background image of a mail list or a mail message while the music is output by the audio processing unit 104.
Abstract:
A method of operating a mobile communication terminal, the method including photographing an image and interconnecting the photographed image with an input number such that when the number is input into the mobile communication terminal, the photographed image is automatically displayed on the mobile communication terminal.
Abstract:
An enhanced telephony (ET) computer user interface that seamlessly integrates features of a personal computer (PC) and a telephone into a coherent user interface. The user is provided with a rich variety of functionality that leverages the fact that the PC has considerably more processing power and greater access to variety of data than the ordinary telephone. This processing power and data access is used to the user's advantage as the telephone's capabilities and functionality are greatly expanded. In general, the ET user interface includes a plurality of environments for the user to choose. These environments include a My Contacts environment, a communication preferences environment, and a Call History environment. Each of these environments contains certain available processes and features for controlling and managing telephones.
Abstract:
An apparatus and methods are disclosed for enabling a telecommunications terminal to notify its user of the arrival of a message via an acoustic or visual signal whose properties are based on attributes of the message. A network infrastructure element (e.g., a switch, a private branch exchange [PBX], a server, etc.) receives a message directed to a terminal and sets the values of ringtone properties (e.g., tempo, volume, pitch, rhythm, etc.) based on attributes of an incoming message (e.g., the sender, a priority, a subject, the location from which the message was sent, etc.). In a first illustrative embodiment the network infrastructure element sends the message and the instantiated ringtone to the terminal, while in a second illustrative embodiment the network infrastructure element sends the message and the property values to the terminal, and the terminal plays a locally-stored ringtone in accordance with the property values.
Abstract:
A method, a communication device and computer readable storage media facilitate engaging in communication session between a first communication device and another, i.e., a second communication device. One or more video frames received from the second communication device for display on the first communication device are captured. At least one video frame from the communication session is selected, at the first communication device, for use as a contact identifier associated with a contact person at the second communication device. The selected video frame for use as the contact identifier of the contact person is stored in a memory of the first communication device.
Abstract:
A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a media content processor having a controller adapted to establish communications with a voicemail system, receive a caller identification (ID) associated with a voicemail message stored in the voicemail system, detect a match between the caller ID and one among one or more communication identifiers recorded in an entry of an address book, retrieve an image excerpt associated with the entry of the address book, present the image excerpt at a media device to identify a calling party that recorded the voicemail message. Other embodiments are disclosed.
