Abstract:
Methods and systems are disclosed which are capable of efficiently performing color management of a variable gloss color printing system. The methods and systems select at least one set of the linear color values corresponding to the color profile for the printing device (at the nominal gloss condition). The linear color values selected comprise those obtained from color values corresponding to each node of the color profile at the nominal gloss condition. In a colorimetric embodiment, the linear color values can comprise: tristimulus values XYZ; red, green, blue (RGB); or luminance component Y, and two chromatic components C1 and C2 (YCC). In a reflectance embodiment, the linear color values comprise reflectance spectra. This exemplary method adds an offset term to each of the linear color values to produce a corresponding set of modified linear color values, and generates a color profile for the printing device at the desired gloss condition based on the modified linear color values.
Abstract:
A security copy method of an image forming apparatus includes generating scan data by scanning a document including predetermined additional information, determining whether to security-print the document by using the additional information of the generated scan data, determining whether the scan data include color information corresponding to the security area, and printing the scan data excluding a security area corresponding to the color information from the scan data according to the determination result. With this, the image forming apparatus minimizes the amount of the security information included in a bar code or mark and enables a simple print process.
Abstract:
A method for creating a pattern color space for use during print job processing may include: a) defining a variable portion of the pattern color space, b) defining a fixed portion of the pattern color space, c) defining a bounding shape for the pattern color space, d) defining a procedure for painting the variable and fixed portions within the bounding shape, and e) at least temporarily, saving the pattern color space to a storage device. The variable portion of the pattern color space may be based on variable data associated with the print job and an object within the print job may identify the pattern color space for a color parameter. A system using this method may include a storage device, a digital front end, a print controller, and a print engine. Various methods for using the pattern color space during print job processing are also provided.
Abstract:
An updating unit updates a color-conversion table stored in a storing unit. An image processing unit processes an input image data based on updated color-conversion table. A tamper-resistant chip that includes a first collecting unit that collects log information related to a usage of the image processing apparatus, a generating unit that generates a hash value corresponding to collected log information, and a recording unit that records generated hash value. An acquiring unit acquires the log information corresponding to the hash value by referring to recorded hash value. The updating unit updates the color-conversion table based on acquired log information.
Abstract:
A color management system is disclosed wherein a video is color graded for a plurality of different display devices or groups of display devices and the color grading information is used to adjust the video for presentment with a given display device.
Abstract:
Print workflow methods and printing system apparatuses are described in some embodiments. According to one embodiment, a print workflow method includes providing a job to be printed upon media comprising arranging a plurality of elements into a desired layout for a page of the job and tagging individual ones of the elements of the job with respective ones of a plurality of different tags, and hard imaging the job in a plurality of separations and according to the tags, the hard imaging comprising accessing the job comprising the elements and the respective tags of the page, processing the page of the job for printing, and after the processing, printing the page of the job comprising the plurality of elements, and after the printing, finishing the job, and wherein at least one of the processing, the printing and the finishing for a single one of the separations comprises processing, printing, or finishing different ones of the elements of the page differently according to the respective tags.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes: a data receiving part that receives printing information and image data from a storage medium that stores the printing information and the image data; a printing part that prints the image data; and a controller that controls the printing part to print an information image based on the printing information before printing the image data. With this configuration, a user's convenience is improved and a consumption of a printing medium is minimized, while printing an image data stored in a storage medium.
Abstract:
The technique of the present invention ensures output of an image subjected to image processing, which does not depend upon the output environment but reflects the color reproduction characteristics of a shooting device and the intention of a photographer in shooting. The process generates an image file that includes picture data generated by a digital still camera, as well as control data and output specification information attached thereto. The control data controls the details of image processing according to the color reproduction characteristics of the camera and the intention of the photographer in shooting. The output specification information specifies, for example, the address of a printing device used as an output resource, the type of printing paper used for printing, and the number of copies. The image file is transmitted to an image processing system on a network. The image processing system carries out image processing of the picture data based on the control data, generates an output file, and transmits the output file to an specified output device via the network. Even in the environment that can not perform image processing based on the control data, the arrangement of the invention ensures output of the image that has been subjected to such image processing.
