摘要: A method to determine an operating status of an image forming device comprises: monitoring a plurality of operating parameters of the image forming device during a first time interval; calculating a correlation coefficient during a second time interval between at least two of the plurality of operating parameters; identifying the image forming device as an abnormal operating status when the correlation coefficient calculated during the second time interval is a positive correlation coefficient above a predetermined level associated with a model of the image forming device; and determining a maintenance action for the image forming device based on the abnormal operating status.

摘要: A method for calibrating a multi-function printing (MFP) device includes printing a calibration target image on a first side of a print medium from at least one print medium source with a printing device of the MFP device. The calibration target image includes at least one fiducial. The method includes scanning the first side of the print medium comprising the calibration target image with a scanning device of the MFP device to create a first scanned image, identifying at least one edge of the print medium via a background pattern to determine a number of scan measurements, identifying at least one position of the at least one fiducial within the calibration target image, and calculating a calibration target error based on the at least one fiducial and the scan measurements.

摘要: Provided are image forming apparatuses, non-transitory recording media each storing a computer-readable program for obtaining paper information, and paper-information obtaining methods. An image forming apparatus includes at least one reflection-type optical sensor that measures a sheet in a sheet path, and at least one backing configured to change optical density of a backing face which is to be placed under a sheet in the sheet path for a measurement of the sheet with each of the at least one reflection-type optical sensor. A hardware processor in a system including the image forming apparatus, causes the at least one reflection-type optical sensor to take measurements of a sheet in the sheet path by using different optical densities of the backing face, and calculates paper weight, which is weight of paper per unit area, of the sheet on the basis of the result of the measurements.

摘要: Matching color information in an optical system can include splitting an image forming beam into a bright intensity beam and a dark intensity beam, detecting, using multiple sensors, a color value for a light component from the bright intensity beam and the dark intensity beam, determining color values for the remaining light components associated with the bright intensity beam and the dark intensity beam, and transforming the color values associated with the dark intensity beam to calibrate the color values of the dark intensity beam against the color values of the light intensity beam, the color values of the light intensity beam including color inaccuracies.

摘要: An image reading device includes: a sensor module having a light source and a plurality of sensors; a white reference plate; and an image processor that generates correction data to be used for shading correction and performs the shading correction on image signals, using the correction data. The light source is configured to switch between at least a first luminous intensity and a second luminous intensity lower than the first luminous intensity. The image processor acquires intermediate data by causing the plurality of sensors to acquire an image signal of the white reference plate illuminated with the second luminous intensity, generates black correction data, based on the intermediate data, and performs the shading correction, using the black correction data, so that a density unevenness, in an image, caused by interference between image signals from the plurality of sensors.

A print control apparatus includes an information storage processing section which stores measured color values into a database which stores history information of color measurement, where the measured color values are obtained by measuring colors in a color chart by using a printing device. The print control apparatus further includes a color defining section which defines a specific color by referring to the database, and a color calibration controlling section which, while the printing device is processing a print job, causes the printing device to measure the specific color, determines whether to calibrate the printing device on the basis of a change with time in the measured color value of the specific color, and calibrates the printing device according to the determination result.
