Abstract:
A trash compactor may include a frame, a cavity, a trash receptacle, a platen movable to compress trash collected in the trash receptacle, a set of linkages and a drive mechanism configured to drive said platen up and down, the drive mechanism further configured as one of the link elements, and a platen guide mechanism configured to restrict the motion of the platen in an up and down manner.

Abstract:
A method for hydraulic control of a toggle lever press in which the velocity of a driving piston rod is increased at least once in the working region of a press ram. The velocity of the press ram is thus kept relatively constant up to bottom dead center (or upper dead center) of the press ram. A toggle lever press has a control adapted for carrying out this method.
Abstract:
A press which has a short ram stroke in which the ram is movable in a single plane in a working direction and return direction, particularly for high speed cutting presses, comprises, a press frame with a ram carried by the press frame which is supported by springs which are rigidly connected to the ram and to the press frame and hold the ram resiliently for movement in the working and return direction but rigidly in all other planes. The springs advantageously comprise at least two spring elements which are arranged substantially perpendicular to the direction of the ram stroke and may advantageously comprise sets of bar springs arranged on each of two sides of the ram and connected from the ram to the frame; leaf springs having lateral extensions which are arranged one above the other and connected between the ram and the frame or springs arranged in a network or pattern in the form of spiral spring assemblies or spring packs which permit the displacement of the ram in the working and return stroke but hold it rigidly in other planes.
Abstract:
A toggle press having a lower platen assembly constructed to provide a convenient working level for the platen in its open position. The fixed axis of the toggle linkage is mounted immediately adjacent to the ground and the actuator for the toggle linkage is inclined in the direction downwardly progressing away from the toggle actuating axis. The press is constructed with a beam which includes a base plate, this base plate having an extension upon which the fixed pivot of the toggle linkage is mounted, below the neutral axis of the beam. Additional structural features enable compensating deflection and self-alignment of the toggle bearing under load.
Abstract:
The crank press comprises a frame with a bed for accommodating the workpiece and with guides mounted on said frame perpendicularly to the bed surface, said guides supporting a slide which carries the working tool and being connected with the crankshaft by a kinematic chain comprising an engaging mechanism for starting the slide on its working stroke, said mechanism being made in the form of a power cylinder.
Abstract:
A toggle-joint press, in particular one which is pneumatically operated and used variously for bending, encasing, cutting and other stamping operations, is characterized by a control piston comprising two coaxial and relatively moveable piston parts arranged within a cylinder having means for stopping and thus limiting the travel of one of the piston parts therein in both directions of travel, while the other piston part may continue its motion to a limiting means defined within a bore in the one piston part in which the other piston part moves, and through connections of the other piston part to a toggle-joint assembly of a press thus providing for the return of a tool holding piston.
Abstract:
A NOVEL TOGGLE PRESS WHEREIN THE GROSS VERTICAL MOVEMENTS OF TWO MOVABLE PLATENS IS ACHIEVED WITH A SINGLE ACTUATING RAM BY USE OF TOGGLE ASSEMBLIES AND WITH EACH PLATEN ACTING AS A COUNTERWEIGHT TO AID IN RAISING THE OTHER PLATEN. THIS PRESS UTILIZES AUXILIARY POWER MEANS INDEPENDENT OF THE SINGLE ACTUATING RAM, TO APPLY MOLD
ING PRESSURE, AND ONE EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION THIS AUXILIARY POWER MEANS IS MOUNTED ON EACH TOGGLE ASSEMBLY AND ACTS ON A PIVOT PIN ATTACHED TO THE UPPER PLATEN ASSEMBLY.
