    Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure relate to active cooling devices for cooling an electronic assembly positioned downstream in a computing system. In one embodiment, an electronic assembly positioned downstream of the computing system is disclosed. The electronic assembly includes a printed circuit board electrically connected to the computing system; an air duct disposed over the printed circuit board; and an active cooling device thermally coupled to the printed circuit board. The printed circuit board includes a transceiver socket configured to receive at least one optical transceiver and one or more heat-generating components disposed thereon. The at least one optical transceiver is configured to mate with an active optical cable.

    Abstract: A field-replaceable unit (FRU) identification circuit includes a reference voltage source, a reference resistor, a plurality of comparators, and a plurality of comparator input voltage sources. The reference voltage source provides a reference voltage. A first end of the reference resistor is electrically connected to the reference voltage source. Each comparator has two inputs and an output. A first input of each comparator is electrically connected to a second end of the reference resistor. The comparator input voltage sources each provide a comparator input voltage to the second input of one of the comparators. When an FRU is electrically connected to a circuit board where the FRU identification circuit is located, the outputs of the comparators are set to a distinct combination of logical values that uniquely identifies the FRU.

    Abstract: A cold plate for cooling a heat-generating component in a computer system is disclosed. The cold plate includes a lid member with a lower supply manifold housing and a lower collection manifold housing. The cold plate includes a base member having coolant channels defined by fins. Each of the fins have a top section and a bottom section attached to the base member. An interior cavity is defined by an arc-shaped section of the fins, the interior surface of the base, and the lower supply manifold housing. An interior corner is formed by the lower supply manifold housing of the lower manifold housing at the top of the fins to trap debris. An upper inlet manifold has a connector to receive coolant. An upper outlet manifold has a connector to circulate coolant. The upper manifolds are in fluid communication with the collection manifold housings.

    Abstract: A chassis for a computing device includes a base component and a top cover. The base component includes guide slots therein. The top cover includes stamped protrusions extending from one or more side slider structures. The slider structurers extend downwardly from a top surface of the top cover. The stamped protrusions are unitary one-piece structures with the one or more side slider structures. The stamped protrusions correspond to respective guide slots of the base component such that the stamped protrusions are positioned in corresponding guide slots when the base component and the top cover are in a mating position.

    Abstract: A system includes a first printed circuit board (PCB), a temperature sensor, a switching circuit provided on the first PCB, and a controller. The temperature sensor is configured to measure temperature of at least an area of the first PCB. The controller is configured to trigger the switching circuit to turn off power to the first PCB, based at least in part on the temperature sensor detecting a temperature above a temperature threshold. The system is able to disrupt power much faster than conventional methods of power protection which may have a blind spot to certain areas of the first PCB, since these methods rely on power disruption when a maximum power is sensed.

    Abstract: A cooling device for a computing system is disclosed. The cooling device includes an inlet conduit, a first radiator, a second radiator, a connecting conduit, and an outlet conduit. The first radiator has a first top tank and a first bottom tank. The first top tank is coupled to the inlet conduit. The second radiator has a second top tank and a second bottom tank. The second radiator is positioned parallel to the first radiator. The first radiator and the second radiator are positioned at an angle relative to a bottom panel of the computing system.     Abstract: A flexible mount for attaching an object to poles of different diameters is disclosed. The flexible mount includes a series of two or more supports configured to securely hold a pole. Each support includes a bracket, a first bearing, a second bearing, and a tensioner. The bracket includes a first end, a second end, and a mount for mounting an object radially relative to the longitudinal axis of the pole. The first bearing is pivotally coupled to the first end of the bracket. The second bearing is pivotally coupled to the second end of the bracket.     Abstract: Guide holders for engaging a motherboard sled with an input-output sled stacked thereon within an electronic chassis, are disclosed. The electronic chassis includes a motherboard sled having a housing having a first sidewall and a second sidewall opposite to the first sidewall, a first guide holder and a second guide holder. The first guide holder is coupled to the first sidewall and includes a first plurality of slots for directing motion of a first plurality of guide pins of an input-output sled in a predetermined direction. The second guide holder is coupled to the second sidewall and includes a second plurality of slots for directing motion of a second plurality of guide pins of the input-output sled in the predetermined direction.     Abstract: A system is disclosed that includes a bay within a computer system, such as a fan bay. The system further includes a baffle positioned around a section of a perimeter of the bay. The baffle is configured to move along the section. The baffle includes a projection that extends into the bay. The projection is configured to abut against a module, such as a fan module, so that the module drives the baffle from a closed position to an open position as the module is inserted into the bay.
