    Abstract: An example method performed by a processing system obtaining a first port-in number for a first mobile device from a first mobile communications service provider, wherein the first port-in number is known to be involved in fraudulent activity, constructing a social graph of communications between the first port-in number and a plurality of other numbers associated with a plurality of other communications devices, identifying, by the processing system, a maximal subgraph of the social graph, wherein the maximal subgraph connects the first port-in number and a subset of the plurality of other numbers that includes those of the plurality of other numbers for which a usage metric is below a predefined threshold for a defined period of time prior to the first port-in number being ported into the first mobile communications service provider, and identifying, by the processing system, a potential fraud ring, based on the maximal subgraph.

    Abstract: Concepts and technologies directed to scrubbed internet protocol domain for enhanced cloud security are disclosed herein. In various aspects, a system can include a processor and memory storing instructions that, upon execution, cause performance of operations. The operations can include exposing an application to a service provider network that provides an internet connection, where the application is provided by a datacenter that communicates with the service provider network. The operations can include monitoring traffic flows to the application during an observation time period, where the traffic flows include probe traffic that attempts to reach the application. The operations can include constructing a scrubbed internet protocol domain such that detected probe traffic is prevented from reaching a plurality of virtual machines provided by the datacenter.

    Abstract: Adjusting a network path between a user equipment and a network edge cloud instance is disclosed. The adjustment of the network path can be based on performance of the network path. The performance of the network path can be ranked, based on performance, against other network paths. In an embodiment, the other network paths can be between the user equipment and the network edge cloud instance. Additionally, the other network paths can be between the user equipment and another network edge cloud instance that can be located remotely from the network edge cloud instance. In an embodiment, a recommendation can be provided to a cloud service provider to enable the cloud service provider to adjust a characteristic of an application or service performed by a network edge cloud instance. The disclosed subject matter can provide advantages over conventional cloud instances that are typically supported on a device located distant from a network device operated by a network provider.

    Abstract: Architectures and techniques are presented that improve or optimize (e.g., within a factor of optimal) spare equipment allocation. Efficient spare equipment allocation is capable of satisfying many orthogonal or even conflicting goals such as reducing the cost of purchase and storage of the spare equipment while simultaneously seeking to reduce downtime due to failed equipment resulting from too sparse coverage by the spare equipment.     Abstract: A low complexity multiple input multiple output transmitter that transmits a single codeword per channel is disclosed herein. Instead of sending multiple codewords per channel for transmissions that support higher data layer transmissions, the transmitter can send single codewords over multiple channels in order to improve spectral efficiency over a range of signal to interference plus noise ratios. For instance, if a downlink transmission to a user equipment (UE) has a rank of 4, capable of supporting 4 data layers, instead of sending 2 or more codewords over a single downlink control channel, the transmitter can schedule multiple control channels and transmit a single codeword per channel. The transmitter can also include in the signaling to the UE that the multi-codewords are included in multiple downlink control channels.

    Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, calculating a Fresnel zone about a line of sight (LoS) between a pair of antennas positioned on antenna mounts. The Fresnel zone is projected onto a geospatial grid of 3D cells, each having a height above a horizontal plane. Cells that intersect the Fresnel zone projection are selected to obtain a subset cells with constraint heights determined according to heights of the subset cells that are adjusted according to the Fresnel zone. The LoS is revised according to an algorithm to obtain a set of updated LoS. Those updated LoS that do not intersect the set of adjusted constraint heights are identified as solutions that include an optimal solution, should one exist. Other embodiments are disclosed.
