摘要: A gearbox oil cooling assembly for a gearbox driving a drive shaft having a drive shaft coupling. The assembly includes a heat exchanger to receive and cool an oil from the gearbox and having an inlet. Also included is an impeller axially disposed between the heat exchanger and the drive shaft coupling, wherein the impeller is operatively coupled to, and rotated by, the drive shaft operatively coupled to the drive shaft coupling. Further included is an exhaust duct operatively coupled to the heat exchanger and disposed radially outwardly around the impeller and defining an airflow pathway through which air passes through the inlet, the impeller and through the exhaust duct according to the rotation of the impeller to cool the oil in the heat exchanger.

摘要: A system and method for an application of a virtual load monitoring of an aircraft to determine a component retirement time for at least one component of the aircraft is provided. The system and method includes estimating component loads from aircraft state parameters; calculating load statistics from the component loads; calculating a reliability factor; generating a component design load spectrum by applying the reliability factor to the load statistics; and calculating the component retirement time for the at least one component of the aircraft by utilizing the component design load spectrum.

摘要: A rotary wing aircraft is provided including a dual counter-rotating, coaxial rotor system having an upper rotor system and a lower rotor system rotatable about a common axis. A plurality of blade assemblies is mounted to a portion of either the upper rotor system or the lower rotor system. A plurality of individually controllable actuators is coupled to each of the plurality of blade assemblies. Each of the plurality of actuators is configured to control movement of the coupled blade assembly about a pitch axis. The rotary-wing aircraft additionally includes a sensor system within an airframe. A higher harmonic control (HHC) controller is arranged in communication with the sensor system and the plurality of actuators to individually control the upper rotor system and the lower rotor system to reduce vibration.

摘要: A method of electrical system fault detection and location determination includes measuring a baseline time domain reflectometry (TDR) waveform along a wire path of the electrical system and obtaining an operating TDR waveform along the wire path. The operating TDR waveform is compared to the baseline TDR waveform to derive a difference TDR waveform, and a difference energy is calculated utilizing the difference TDR waveform. The difference energy is monitored over time for peaks in the difference energy and potential electrical system faults are identified via the peaks in the difference energy.
