    摘要: A gas generator for use in a safety arrangement for vehicles comprises a combustion chamber and a gas-generating propellant contained in the combustion chamber, the propellant having an auto-ignition temperature of more than about 200 degrees C., and an outer wall having a wall section directly adjoining a part of the propellant. The wall section has a smaller wall thickness than the outer wall adjacent to the wall section and is arranged relative to the propellant so that the portion of the propellant adjoining the wall section heats up to the auto-ignition temperature under bonfire conditions faster than the propellant in the rest of the combustion chamber.

The composition essentially of 20 to 25% by weight of an organic fuel, 30 to 60% by weight ammonium perchlorate, 5 to 30% by weight of a chloride scavenger and conventional processing aids in a proportion of 0 to 10% by weight. An iron compound is used as said chloride scavenger, which is converted into gaseous iron(III)-chloride upon reaction of the composition.

    摘要: A pyrotechnic composition, in particular for use in safety devices for motor vehicles, has an auto-ignition temperature between 140 and 180 degrees C., and comprises at least 3-nitro-1,2,4-triazol-5-one (NTO) in a proportion of 20 to 60% by weight. The NTO is stabilized by at least one of the following measures: (a) the NTO has an average grain size of 200 to 600 □m; and (b) the composition comprises an oil in an effective quantity for stabilizing the NTO. The pyrotechnic composition is adapted for use in a safety device, in particular in a safety device in motor vehicles.

    摘要: A gas generator comprises an outflow chamber and a freeing element. The outflow chamber contains at least briefly gas under pressure, when the gas generator is activated and at least one outflow opening is arranged in a side wall of the outflow chamber. The freeing element is arranged non-displaceably in the outflow chamber and has a peripheral wall and a base wall. The peripheral wall extends along the side wall and closes at least one outflow opening before an activation of the gas generator. The base wall is connected with the peripheral wall. The freeing element is constructed so that on exceeding a predetermined gas pressure in the outflow chamber, the base wall turns inwards under partial plastic deformation of the peripheral wall and at least one hitherto concealed outflow opening is freed by the plastic deformation of the peripheral wall.

    摘要: An explosive composition comprises a porous fuel and an oxidizer. The porous fuel is a solid with a structure size measuring between about 2 nm and 1000 nm and has a porosity that lies between 10% and 98%. The oxidizer is solid or liquid at room temperature and is incorporated into the pores of the porous fuel. The oxidizer is selected, in an amount of at least 50% by weight relative to a total quantity of the oxidizer, from the group consisting of hydrogen peroxide, hydroxylammonium nitrate, organic nitro compounds or nitrates, alkali metal nitrates or earth alkali metal nitrates as well as metal nitrites, metal chlorates, metal perchlorates, metal bromates, metal iodates, metal oxides, metal peroxides, ammonium perchlorate, ammonium nitrate and mixtures thereof.

Further outflow openings are arranged in the transport cover such that the transport assembly as a whole remains neutral with respect to thrust on activation of the gas generator.
