    Abstract: A windshield for a balance is provided, and the windshield to be attached to a balance to define a weighing chamber, includes openable and closable doors constituting portions of the weighing chamber, opening and closing mechanisms configured to open and close the doors, sensors configured to detect movement of the doors, and a control unit configured to command the opening and closing mechanism to open and close the door when a movement of the door from a stationary state is detected by the sensors. When an operator slightly moves the door from a stationary state to open or close the door, the sensor detects this, and the door is automatically opened or closed.

    Abstract: Provided is a windshield for a balance, for which opening and closing doors of the windshield are smoothly moved without wobbling, dust or the like is unlikely to accumulate on the part of guide rails that guide the opening and closing doors, and cleaning is easy. Upper portions of the pair of opening and closing doors of the windshield are respectively suspended by upper frames provided along respective side portions of an upper surface door, and the opening and closing doors are reciprocated by air cylinders by being guided by guide rails each formed of a horizontal portion and a vertical portion. On the respective horizontal portions, projections that restrict lower ends of the respective opening and closing doors from being displaced in separating directions from the vertical portions are provided along movement paths of the respective opening and closing doors.

    Abstract: Provided is an electronic balance that includes a windshield having a door to be automatically opened and closed, and has a high degree of freedom of design. An electronic balance including a balance main body that holds a weighing mechanism connected to a weighing pan, and a windshield including a frame and doors disposed slidably on the frame, and configured to form a weighing chamber by covering the weighing pan, and configured so that the windshield includes inside air cylinders connected to the doors to open and close the doors, and air pumps to drive the air cylinders, and is configured to be detachable from the balance main body. The windshield that has doors to be automatically opened and closed is detachable from the balance main body, so that the windshield and the balance main body can be designed separately, and therefore, the degree of freedom of design of the electronic balance is high.
