Abstract: A software product includes a computer-readable medium storing instructions which, when executed by a processor, displays a graphical user interface for a video editing system, the graphical user interface including: a media bin displaying a plurality of media elements imported into the video editing system; a viewing window for viewing a selected one of the media elements; a timeline; a concatenator element; and a focus element; responsive to a user actuating the concatenator element, concatenates the media elements present in the media bin together into a single media element and loading the single media element into the viewing window; and responsive to a user actuating said focus element, modifies the single media element to form a focused single media element that concatenates only those media elements present in the media bin with related metadata and loading the focused single media element into the viewing window.

Abstract: Processing raw image data in a camera includes computing a luminance image from the raw image data, and computing a chrominance image corresponding to at least one of the sensor's image colors from the raw image data. The luminance image and chrominance image(s) can represent the same range of colors able to be represented in the raw image data. The chrominance image can have a lower resolution than that of the luminance image. A camera for performing the method is also disclosed.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a filter array and to a method for processing image data in a camera. The camera is configured to receive light and generate image data using an image sensor having an associated filter array. The image sensor includes an array of pixels, each of which corresponds to a filter element in the filter array, so that each pixel has a spectral response at least partly defined by a corresponding filter element. The filter array includes a pattern of wideband filter elements and at least two types of narrowband filter elements. The method includes the step of generating a luminance image comprising a wideband filter element value that is calculated for each pixel of the image sensor.

Abstract: Digitization of film, and more particularly film scanning, includes capturing light transmitted through the film so as to acquire a digitized image. This includes a captured frame comprising a digitized image of at least a portion of at least one image frame of a sequence of image frames, and at least a portion of one or more transport perforations. The method can further include determining an image offset corresponding to at least the captured frame on the basis of a comparison between at least one detected edge in the captured image and a corresponding datum location. A signal representing the image offset can be generated to enable alignment of at least the captured frame.

Abstract: A method of digitizing an audio track carried on an elongate recording medium, such as a movie film, includes transporting the recording medium containing the audio track past a reader to enable sequential reading of the audio track. The reading of the audio track generates an analog output signal. The method also includes sensing a rate of transportation of the recording medium, and sampling the analog output signal at a sampling rate determined on the basis of the sensed rate of transportation to digitize the analog output signal. A system for digitizing audio is also disclosed.
