Abstract:
When an object touches a touch panel, a projection light source projects a predetermined image including image information and forms an object image having the image information on a surface of the object. An image sensor captures a reflection image including the object image. Then, an angle is calculated according to an image location of the object in the reflection image and a relative position of predetermined axis, and a distance between the object and the image sensor is calculated by comparing the predetermined image with the location, size and/or phase of the image information of the reflection image so as to determine a coordinate of the object on the touch panel according to the angle and the distance.

Each resilient strip has two ends connected to the hollow cylinder and is 4.5 mm to 12.5 mm in length and 0.5 mm to 1.1 mm in width. Each resilient strip has a central portion deflected toward the axis of the hollow cylinder by a displacement ranging from 0.2 mm to 0.8 mm.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for acquiring object image of a pointer are provided. The apparatus is suitable for an optical touch system and is used for acquiring an object image of a pointer when the pointer interacts with a touch surface of the optical touch system. The apparatus includes an image sensor and a processing circuit. The image sensor is used for acquiring an image of the touch surface. When the pointer approaches the touch surface, the processing circuit compares at least a part of the information of a sensed image with a threshold value, so as to determine a comparison range. Then, the processing circuit determines another threshold value according to the image information in the comparison range. Afterwards, the processing circuit compares the image information in the comparison range with the aforementioned another threshold value, so as to acquire an object image of the pointer.

Abstract:
A method for audio encoding includes: analyzing an audio frame using a psychoacoustic model to obtain a corresponding masking curve and window information; transforming the audio frame according to the window information to obtain a spectrum, and dividing the spectrum into a plurality of frequency sub-bands; estimating a scale factor for each frequency sub-band; quantizing the frequency sub-bands; encoding the quantized frequency sub-bands; and packing the encoded frequency sub-bands and side information into an audio stream. Each scale factor is estimated based on a quantizable audio intensity of each frequency sub-band, which is adjusted according to a cumulative total amount of buffer space used for storing the encoded frequency sub-bands and an amount of buffer space used for storing a previously encoded audio frame, and a mean of intensities of all signals in the corresponding frequency sub-band and spectrum position of the corresponding frequency sub-band.

A method for coordinate generation to be implemented using an orientation device includes the steps of: providing at least three reference marks on a target; aiming the orientation device at a target point on the target, and operating the orientation device such that the orientation device is able to capture an image of the target that contains the reference marks; assigning absolute coordinates to the reference marks in the image captured by the orientation device; and determining relative coordinates of the target point in a coordinate space of the target with reference to the absolute coordinates assigned to the reference marks. An orientation device that performs the method is also disclosed.

A pointer positioning device for positioning an aiming point on a display screen of an image display comprises at least one auxiliary point, an image sensor and an optical filter. The auxiliary point is disposed at the peripheral of the display screen for generating a predetermined spectrum. The image sensor receives signals of the predetermined spectrum generated by the auxiliary point. The optical filter is disposed in front of the image sensor for filtering out spectrum outside the predetermined spectrum such that the image sensor can merely sense the signals of the predetermined spectrum, wherein the auxiliary point is utilized as a reference point for correcting an initial setup and positioning the aiming point so as to position the aiming point inside a predetermined range on the display screen. The present invention also provides a pointer positioning method adapted to the pointer positioning device.
Abstract:
A protecting circuit for a horizontal transistor used for protecting the horizontal transistor of a horizontal deflecting circuit in a cathode ray tube. The protecting circuit comprises a switching circuit and a power sensor. The switching circuit is coupled to at least one sub capacitor of a S-character correcting loop. When the switching circuit is on, the switching circuit further connects the sub capacitors and the main capacitor of the S-character correcting loop in parallel. The power sensor is for detecting whether the D.C. voltage source is on. When the power sensor detects that the D.C. voltage source is off, the power sensor will turn on the switching circuit. The invention reduces a surge of the cross voltage VCE of the horizontal transistor when the system is off, therefore the invention achieves the goals of protecting the horizontal transistor and raising yield of the products.
