Abstract:
A system for releasably securing a drawer to a drawer slide includes a drawer slide, a catch insert for receiving and securing a portion of a locking lever, a drawer, a locking lever comprising at least one tooth, pivotably mounted to the drawer and a spring for releasably engaging the at least one tooth in contact with the catch insert. The catch insert can be mounted in the aperture provided in the drawer slide and can include a plurality of ridges and grooves aligned in a direction parallel to the sliding direction of the drawer, and can extend in a direction perpendicular to the sliding direction of the drawer. The locking lever can include a plurality of teeth, which are aligned in a direction parallel to the sliding direction of the drawer, and can extend in a direction perpendicular to the sliding direction of the drawer.
Abstract:
A one-way valve allows air to be drawn from an air tight container using a vacuum source. When the vacuum source is removed, the one-way valve prevents air from re-entering the container. A pump evacuates air from the container including a housing cooperatively engaging the housing for filter and cap assembly of the one way valve assembly. A seal isolates the pump housing from the cap sealing housing, and a handle is provided to withdrawably evacuate the air from the container.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a hinge assembly comprising a frame plate for engagement to a furniture frame member comprising means for engaging a spring assembly, an intermediate plate comprising means for rotatably engaging the intermediate plate with a pin, and two side members, a spring assembly for releasably engaging the intermediate plate to the frame plate, and, a base plate comprising two side members each having at least one aperture therein, and a pin. The pin extends through the apertures on the side members of the base plate and the means for rotatably engaging the intermediate plate with a pin provide a slideable engagement between the base plate and the intermediate plate, and the spring assembly provides a releasable engagement between the frame plate and the intermediate plate.
Abstract:
This invention relates to hinges for mounting a door on a furniture article frame. The hinges include at least a hinge cup member adapted to be affixed to the furniture door and a top hinge arm segment pivotably connected to the hinge cup member and having a top center hole and a top elongated aperture with one end open to the top center hole. Various intermediate hinge arm segments and base hinge arm segments can be used with the top hinge arm segment to allow adjustments to be made in two or three directions. In some embodiments, turning an adjustment screw allows adjustments to be made horizontally from side-to-side so that the desired spacing of the door from opposite sides of the door opening can be set. In some embodiments, turning a cam screw allows adjustments to be made horizontally in-and-out so that the desired alignment of the door with the front face of the furniture article frame can be set. In some embodiments, vertical adjustments can also be made, either by loosening a fastening screw or by turning a cam screw, so that the desired spacing from the top and bottom of the door opening can be set.
Abstract:
A swinging drawer takes the form of an upper open compartment that is fastened to the underside of an upper wall cabinet/furniture such as, for example, an upper kitchen cabinet that is attached or hung on a wall.
Abstract:
A rotary shelf for use within a cabinet which has first and second mounting brackets spaced apart and opposing each other attached to the bottom and to the top of the inside of the cabinet. The mechanism includes integrally formed shelves, a shelf and post securing mechanism wherein a notched member affixed to a mounting bracket cooperatively receives an engaging member to secure the post and shelves in a stationary position. The mechanism also includes a shelf and cabinet opening adjustment mechanism to permit threadable adjustment of the post and carried shelves with respect to the cabinet opening.
Abstract:
An improved self mounting adjustable hinge which simplifies the pre-installation of a door on a frame resulting in greater efficiency and reduced costs associated with the production of furniture articles such as cabinets, desks and the like. The improved adjustable hinge includes a hinge cup mountable to a door, a hinge arm connected at one end to the hinge cup and a hinge plate connected to the other end of the hinge arm which includes a substantially D-shaped opening for mounting the hinge plate to the frame and securing the door to the frame. The D-shaped opening in the hinge plate is specifically dimensioned to allow a head of a pre-installed fastening screw to pass through the opening only when the hinge plate is tilted relative to the screw head.
Abstract:
A drawer guide support bracket permits use of a standard length drawer guide in a furniture article, such as a cabinet, and provides a simple and efficient method of securely attaching the support bracket to a face frame member of the cabinet. The support bracket includes a bracket body having a drawer guide receiving portion and a fastening structure for securing the bracket to the face frame member and supporting the drawer guide thereon without decreasing the space needed to accommodate a standard length drawer guide. The support bracket includes a cut-away section within the bracket body for eliminating the interposing thickness of the bracket body between the supported drawer guide and the surface of the face frame member to which the bracket is secured. In another embodiment, the subject invention includes a staple-like support bracket in which the tongue portion of a drawer guide is strapped directly against the inside surface of a rear face frame member by the staple-like support bracket.
