    摘要: A process for the preparation of polymer latex particles comprising:(a) conducting a pre-reaction emulsification which comprises emulsification of the polymerization reagents of monomer, polar comonomer, water, surfactant, chain transfer agent, and initiator, and wherein said emulsification is accomplished at a low temperature of from about 3.degree. to about 35.degree. C.; and(b) accomplishing an emulsion polymerization, which comprises heating the emulsified mixture of (a) in a reactor at from about 25.degree. to about about 125.degree. C. and retaining the contents of the reactor for an effective time period at said temperature of from about 25.degree. to about about 12.degree. C., followed by cooling.

    摘要: A process for the preparation of conductive submicron polymeric particles which comprises mixing at least one monomer with a polymerization initiator, a crosslinking component, and a chain transfer component; adding thereto an AB type block copolymer; effecting bulk polymerization until from about 10 to about 50 weight percent of the monomer has been polymerized; terminating polymerization by cooling the partially polymerized monomer; adding thereto from about 1 to about 50 weight percent of a conductive filler, or conductive fillers, followed by mixing thereof; dispersing the aforementioned mixture of conductive filler or fillers, and partially polymerized product in water containing a stabilizing component to obtain a suspension of particles with an average diameter of from about 0.05 to about 1 micron in water; polymerizing the resulting suspension by heating; and subsequently optionally washing and drying the product.

    摘要: A method for making conductive toner particles includes (A) heat treating in fluidized bed processing equipment a mixture of non-conductive toner particles containing a thermoplastic resin and a colorant, and an effective amount of conductive powder blended with and coated on surfaces of the non-conductive toner particles, wherein the heat treatment is carried out at a temperature at or above the glass transition temperature of the resin for a period of time at least sufficient to fuse the conductive powder onto the surfaces of the non-conductive toner particles, and then (B) cooling the heated conductive toner particles to a temperature below the glass transition temperature of the resin. The final toner particles have a conductivity of at least about 10.sup.-8 ohm.sup.-1 -cm.sup.-1 and preferably from about 10.sup.-4 to about 10.sup.-8 ohm.sup.-1 -cm.sup.-1.
