摘要: An encoding method of recording media is used to speed up the encoding procedure in a recording media. Different conditions of states and paths set in advance during the encoding procedure to simply the actual operation loading for possible paths in the look-ahead calculation, thereby achieving fast encoding. Using the method, the operation of the look-ahead calculation of an exponential growth is greatly reduced to a linear growth.

摘要: An apparatus for detecting physical marks from a wobble signal includes a matching value operation unit, a threshold value generator and a physical mark indicator. A wobble signal is converted into a matched signal by the matching value operation unit according to the waveform difference between a normal clock signal or a specific matching reference signal and itself, wherein the matching reference signal needs to highlight the existed physical mark. The physical mark indicator designates a threshold value that depends on the status of the wobble signal, and compares the matched signal with the threshold value to output a physical mark indication signal. The threshold value is selected from at least two different default values. Furthermore, a decoder is employed to convert the physical mark indication signal into wobble data with physical address information.

摘要: An Envelope provides the integration of the functionality of an electronic mail (email) application program and the functionality of a document editor. Users can more easily generate and edit sophisticated documents for email transmission by invoking an Envelope that provides the user with the functions of an email client. A user that is editing a document in a document editor, such as a word processor or spreadsheet application can invoke the Envelope within the user interface of the document editor. The Envelope has its own user interface that is fully functional within the confines of the document editor's user interface to provide the user with the functionality of the email client application program. With the Envelope invoked, the user is enabled to execute many of the email client's functions while still editing the document within the document editor's user interface. Thus, the rich document editing functionality of the document editor is maintained, while the functionality of the email client is simultaneously accessible to the user. Envelope data generated during the editing process is saved with the document and available when the document is next edited or is opened as an email message.

摘要: Techniques for fracturing a subterranean formation penetrated by a wellbore are provided. The subterranean formation has vertical and horizontal stresses applied thereto. The wellbore has a near wellbore stress zone thereabout. The method involves drilling the wellbore along a drilling path (the wellbore having a vertical portion and a horizontal portion), creating at least one 360-degree perforation in the subterranean formation about the horizontal portions of the wellbore, and fracturing the formation by injecting a fluid into the 360-degree perforations. The 360-degree perforations extend about the wellbore a distance beyond the near wellbore stress zone and at least twice a diameter of the wellbore starting from an axis of the wellbore. A direction of the 360-degree perforation is transverse to the wellbore axis.

摘要: Architecture that facilitates the discovery of interesting and relevant content by a user in a serendipitous way on a microblogging site. For example, relevant content can be defined as connected to the user, the user's work, and user interests, while interesting content can be defined as content that does not directly affect the user, yet the user chooses to obtain (e.g., for viewing, interacting, etc.). The content can be presented as a tile cluster, where each tile is a specific content type (e.g., image, link, post, user recommendations, tags, etc.). Additionally, the content can be obtained and presented relative to a specific temporal setting such as the latest content. The different content types are visually distinguished such that one type of content looks and behaves differently from another content type. The user can also drill into content details from the top content.
