[Means for Solving the Problem]A head mount type image display system 1 at least comprises a display device, an eyepiece optical system, an eyepiece window, an eyepiece window holder 2, a casing and a supporter 10 for fixing all these components onto a user's head. The casing covers the display device, the eyepiece window holder 2 holds the eyepiece window within a user's field of view, the eyepiece optical system forms a virtual image of an image displayed on the display device, the eyepiece window allows a light beam for forming the virtual image to be directed to a user's eye and leave it, and a member that forms the eyepiece window holder is such that, in a range of 10 mm or greater from the eyepiece window toward a base, a width of projection section in a user's visual axis direction is 4 mm or less except some projection, and has a see-around mechanism.

摘要: A head-mounted display system comprises: a display device freely detachable and attachable on a user's head; a direction detector for detecting the orientation of the user's head in at least the horizontal direction, the direction detector being disposed on the display device; an image generator for generating an image in accordance with the orientation of the user's head detected by the direction detector; a displacement-calculating unit for calculating displacement, the displacement being the difference between directional data of the current orientation of the user's head detected by the direction detector and directional data of the orientation of the user's head detected a predetermined amount of time ago; and an image processor for sending an image generated in the image generator to the display device after shifting the image in at least the horizontal direction in accordance with the displacement calculated by the displacement-calculating unit.

摘要: An image display apparatus, e.g., a head-mounted image display apparatus, which uses a compact optical system and yet has minimal aberrations and a large exit pupil diameter. An image displayed on a liquid crystal display device (2) is projected as an enlarged image in a user's eyeball by a convex lens (3). Prism arrays (13 and 14) having the same vertex angle are disposed in parallel to each other between the convex lens (3) and an exit pupil (6) so that the array directions coincide with each other. A parallel beam of light passed through the convex lens (3) has a pupil diameter (a) determined by the numerical aperture of an illumination system (1). The parallel beam first enters the prism array (13) and separates into light beams traveling in four different directions by the prism refracting action. These light beams then enter the prism array (14), which has the same vertex angle as that of the prism array (13). Consequently, the light beams are refracted again to become parallel to each other. As a result, the beam diameter (a) of the light before entering the prism array (13) enlarges to a beam diameter (b) after the light has emanated from the prism array (14). Accordingly, the effective pupil diameter enlarges.

摘要: A transmission type illuminating device for stereomicroscopes formed by arranging in the order mentioned a light source, a collector lens, a pair of light source image forming lenses located in positions symmetrical with respect to the optical axis of the collector lens and a relay lens for light source images arranged on the same optical axis as of the collector lens in order that a uniform bright illumination may be always made irrespective of the magnification and a wide uniform oblique light illumination may be also easily made. The light source is arranged in a position conjugate with a sample placing surface with respect to the collector lens and relay lens for the light source image and the pair of light source image forming lenses are so arranged that their respective optical axis may coincide respectively with a pair of rays from the light source intersecting at the sample placing surface and respectively entering a pair of entrance pupils of a stereomicroscope and the light source images to be formed by the pair of light source image forming lenses may be in positions conjugate respectively with the above mentioned pair of entrance pupils with respect to the relay lens for light source images.
