    摘要: A fuel vapor leak check module has a pump discharging an air through an outlet. When the fuel vapor check module is mounted on a vehicle, an outlet of the pump is opened downwardly in the gravity direction. A housing has an opening provided above the outlet. The foreign particles discharged from the outlet of the pump are deposited on the inner surface of the housing. The foreign particles hardly reach to the opening even if the discharged air pushes up the foreign particles. Thus, the foreign particles are separated from the discharged air by the gravity to avoid the scatter thereof.

    摘要: A fuel vapor processing apparatus includes a canister, a purge passage, a detection passage including an atmosphere passage and a restrictor, a passage changing valve for changing the connection passage of the detection passage between the purge passage and the atmosphere passage, a pump connecting with the detection passage on the opposite side of the passage changing valve across the restrictor, a pressure sensor for detecting a pressure between the restrictor and the pump, and an ECU for computing the concentration of fuel vapor. When the passage changing valve causes the purge passage to connect with the detection passage and the pump reduces pressure in the detection passage to pass the air-fuel mixture through the restrictor, the pressure sensor detects the pressure during a detection period of time that elapses after the air-fuel mixture passes through the restrictor until the air-fuel mixture reaches the pump.

    摘要: Pressure leakage in an evaporated fuel control system having a canister for absorbing evaporated fuel in a fuel tank is detected after an engine is stopped and a temperature in the system is stabilized. In the leakage detecting process, communication between the system and an atmospheric pressure is shut-off by closing an electromagnetic valve connected to the canister. The electromagnetic valve is closed by once supplying a full voltage thereto, and the closed-state is maintained by intermittently supplying a voltage in a duty-ratio-controlled manner or by supplying a lower voltage. Thus, power consumption for maintaining the closed-state is reduced.

    摘要: A pump generates a gas flow within a measurement passage having an orifice. A differential pressure sensor detects a pressure difference between both ends of the orifice. Switching valves are disposed in the measurement passage to create a first concentration measurement state in which the measurement passage is opened at both ends thereof and the gas flowing through the measurement passage is the atmosphere, and a second concentration measurement state in which the measurement passage is in communication at both ends thereof with a canister and the gas flowing through the measurement passage is a fuel vapor-containing air-fuel mixture provided from the canister. An ECU calculates a fuel vapor concentration by based on a pressure difference detected in the first concentration measurement state and a pressure difference detected in the second concentration measurement state.

    摘要: An evaporative emission leak detection system provides for detecting a leakage of a fuel vapor evaporating in a fuel tank by using a pressure difference between an inside and outside of the fuel tank. The system includes a pump for providing the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the fuel tank, a brushless motor for operating the pump, a first passage connecting to the fuel tank, a second passage connecting to the outside of the fuel tank, and a switching device for switching connections between the pump and at least one of the first passage and the second passage. The first passage has an adsorbent for adsorbing the fuel vapor. This system ensures a long life time and high accuracy of the leak detection.

    摘要: A leakage detecting device is connected to an evaporating fuel processing apparatus to detect leakage of evaporating fuel in a ventilation apparatus that includes an electric pump, a fuel tank, and a filter. The electric pump includes a pump portion and a motor portion. The pump portion is capable of generating at least one of pressurizing force and de-pressurizing force. The motor portion drives the pump portion. The filter absorbs fuel evaporating in the fuel tank. The leakage detecting device generates pressure difference between the inside of the ventilation apparatus and the outside of the ventilation apparatus in accordance with the pressurizing force and the de-pressurizing force generated using the electric pump to detect a leakage condition of the ventilation apparatus. The leakage detecting device includes a rotation speed controlling means that controls rotation speed of the motor portion at a predetermined rotation speed.

    摘要: A pressure-changing device of a leak check system for a fuel vapor treatment system has a pressure chamber formed in a peripheral space of a communicating path connecting a pump with an electromagnetic valve, the pressure chamber being deviated from flow delivered by the pump. The electromagnetic valve is opened to connect the communicating path with a canister. Then, a purge valve is closed and the pump is turned on to change pressure in a fuel vapor path. A pressure sensor attached on a side wall of the pressure chamber detects pressure in the communicating path to determine pressure in the fuel vapor path. The leak check system judges existence of leak in the fuel vapor treatment system from pressure in the fuel vapor path.

    摘要: An apparatus detects leak in a fuel vapor treatment system which is referred to as an evaporation system. The apparatus measures a required time T2 that is required for decreasing pressure in the evaporation system from P0 to P1 while opening a base leak hole that provides known amount of leak. Then, a required time T1 that is required for decreasing pressure from P0 to P1 is measured while closing the base leak hole. The apparatus compares the required times T1 and T2 in order to detect a leak other than the base leak hole. In this process, a specified coefficient that is defined in accordance with the base leak hole is taken into consideration. It is possible to detect the leak of the evaporation system with high accuracy even when the amount of remaining fuel is extremely large.
