Abstract:
An electrorheological fluid composition comprising a dispersion of disperse-phase particles formed of a sulfonated polymer possessing aromatic rings substituted with sulfonic acid groups in an electrically non-conducting oil which electrorheological fluid is characterized by the fact that the number of sulfonic acid groups in said sulfonated polymer forming said disperse-phase particles exceeds the number of aromatic rings present in said sulfonated polymer.
Abstract:
A toner density control device for an electrophotographic copier, facsimile apparatus, laser printer or similar image forming apparatus of the type forming an image by depositing a toner on an electrostatic latent image. The device has two sensing circuits, i.e., a toner density sensing circuit and an image density sensing circuit. When one of the two sensing circuits fails, a toner is supplemented in response to an output of the other or normal sensing circuit. When the failed sensing circuit is restored to normal, the toner supply responsive solely to the other sensing circuit is cancelled so that both of the two sensing means join in the toner supply control.
Abstract:
Apparatus for molding stick cosmetics, which comprises:closely fitting a molding block into a vertically extending annular member formed around a container charged with a liquid feed composition for solid cosmetics, said molding block having therethrough a plurality of longitudinal slots which are open at both ends;filling said liquid feed composition into said longitudinal slots; and, thereafter, solidifying and drying the thus filled liquid feed composition.
Abstract:
An apparatus for stacking signatures is compactly constructed with a device to receive and forward horizontally a stream of the signatures partially overlapped from the end of a conveyor connected to the end of a rotary printing press; a device to pile up vertically the signatures into a small bundle; a frame member to stack up the small bundle directly underneath the piling device, such frame member being rotatable 180.degree. to turn each small bundle alternately for stack compensation; and a receiving table movable vertically within the frame member by an elevating mechanism and rotatable along with the frame member.
