    摘要: A phased array antenna includes a transmission line network, e.g. optical or coaxial cable network, and a reference signal generator to provide a reference frequency signal to each of the antenna radiating elements. A phase calibrator generates a calibration signal. e.g. a swept frequency signal, on the transmission line network which is also reflected to create a reflected calibration signal. The phase calibrator determines a frequency difference between the calibration signal and the reflected calibration signal at each of a plurality of taps, and outputs a delay measurement signal to the antenna radiating elements, e.g. via an antenna controller, for adjusting a phase of the reference frequency signal.

    摘要: A smoke detector having a sound quality enhancement chamber for increasing the sound quality of alarms produced by a sound producing device in the smoke detector. In at least one embodiment, the sound quality enhancement chamber is formed by a housing and a plate such that the chamber is in communication with a sound producing device, which may be a speaker, for producing sounds, such as a human voice, with enhanced quality. The sound quality enhancement chamber acts as a spring and increases the quality of the sounds produced by the sound producing device of the smoke detector. In at least one embodiment, the sound quality enhancement chamber enables a smoke detector to emit a parent's voice that is clear and easily understandable.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a shieldable blood collection set and a needle assembly. The needle assembly includes a needle cannula having a puncture tip at a distal end, and a needle retraction mechanism including a hub portion at a proximal end which supports the needle cannula, a shield portion at a distal end, and an extendable member hingedly connected therebetween. The hub portion includes a lateral hub extension extending toward a distal end of the needle cannula, and the shield portion includes a lateral shield extension extending toward a proximal end of said needle cannula. Opposing lateral forces applied against the extendable member and an opposing lateral side of the needle retraction mechanism cause relative axial movement between the hub portion and the shield portion between a first sampling state with the puncture exposed, and a second shielded state with the puncture tip contained within the shield portion.

    摘要: Semiconductor devices have device regions in which semiconductor properties such as spreading resistivity and its profile are significant. In making a p-type device region on a semiconductor wafer, an initial semiconductor device region is defined by a buried region, and an initial spreading resistivity profile is developed by annealing. After annealing, semiconductor device properties can be enhanced by removing a surface sub-region of the initial device region, and can be further improved by epitaxially growing thereon a monocrystalline film as an improved channel layer for FET devices. Such properties are relevant in MOS as well as bipolar devices.

    摘要: A chirp-based method and apparatus measures phase variation through a reference frequency transport cable for a phased array antenna. A chirp is injected into the a signal transport path from a remote transmit/receive portion of the antenna, so that the chirp is conveyed over the signal path, reflected from an upstream bandpass filter at a local transmit/receive portion of the antenna, and returned to a remote transmit portion of the antenna. Energy in the returned chirp is extracted by a downstream bandpass filter and correlated in a delay lock loop with energy in an auxiliary chirp signal, that is delayed relative to the injected chirp. The delay of the auxiliary chirp is adjusted to maximize the correlation output and provide an indication of the delay through the signal path.
