    摘要: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for configuring tones for a distributed resource unit (RU) across a channel bandwidth to improve frequency diversity and available transmit power. A distributed RU may include a set of tones that may be allocated across a bandwidth that is greater than a bandwidth of the aggregate quantity of tones. The set of tones may include a set of data tones grouped into contiguous groups of one or more data tones and a set of non-contiguous pilot tones. The data tones may be mapped to useful tones over a center portion of a half-bandwidth of the channel. The pilot tones may be mapped near edge tones at edges of the channel bandwidth or near direct current tones at a center of the channel bandwidth. A system bandwidth may include one or more channel bandwidths associated with distributed RUs.

Some implementations more specifically relate to physical layer (PHY) convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) designs that support distributed transmission. In some implementations, a PPDU may be generated based on one or more legacy tone plans. In such implementations, a portion of the PPDU may be modulated on a number (M) of tones representing a logical RU, and the M tones may be further mapped to M noncontiguous subcarrier indices in accordance with a distributed tone plan. In some other implementations, a PPDU may be generated based on a distributed tone plan. In such implementations, a portion of the PPDU may be modulated on a number (M) of tones coinciding with M noncontiguous subcarrier indices in accordance with the distributed tone plan.

    摘要: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for link adaptation in wireless communications. Some implementations more specifically relate to transmitter-based modulation and coding scheme (MCS) selection. A transmitting device transmits a test packet, over a wireless channel, to a receiving device. The receiving device generates one or more signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) estimates for the wireless channel based on the received sounding packet. In some aspects, each SINR estimate may be associated with a particular modulation order. In some other aspects, each SINR estimate may be generated based on a transmitter configuration or a receiver type to be used for subsequent communications between the transmitting device and the receiving device. The receiving device transmits feedback, including the SINR estimates, to the transmitting device. The transmitting device then selects an MCS to be used for subsequent communications with the receiving device based on the SINR estimates and associated modulation orders.

    摘要: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some systems (e.g., Wi-Fi systems), a transmitting device such as an access point (AP) or mobile station (STA), may identify a number of spatial streams for a data transmission that is less than a number of transmit antennas, and may transmit a packet over a channel. In a first implementation, the packet may be formatted in a multi-user frame format, with a number of long training field (LTF) symbols equal to the number of transmit antennas. In a second implementation, the packet may be a null data packet (NDP), and the device may transmit a separate data packet. In a third implementation, the packet may be formatted in single-user frame format with a modified LTF. A receiving device may receive the packet, and may perform channel estimation and power amplifier (PA) distortion cancellation based on the received packet.

The AP can support channel puncturing by selecting a particular spreading bandwidth design that controls how dRUs are mapped to non-contiguous tones spanning respective spreading bandwidths.

A message transmitted by an access point (AP) may allocate resources to a plurality of stations (STAs). The AP may be configured to allocate up to 320 MHz of total bandwidth or up to sixteen spatial streams to one or more STAs. In some multiple-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) cases, the spatial configuration field may include a starting spatial stream field and a spatial stream number field. In some non-MU-MIMO cases, the spatial configuration field may be expanded by one bit or more. In some cases, content channels of a resource unit (RU) allocation table may span a frequency segment of 40 MHz.

Some implementations more specifically relate to sounding packet designs that support enhancements to wireless communication protocols associated with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11be amendment, and future generations, of the IEEE 802.11 standard. In some implementations, an enhanced null data packet announcement (NDPA) frame may be configurable to support multiple versions of the IEEE 802.11 standard.
