    摘要: An electrophotographic imaging method, wherein a liquid developer directly contacts an electrophotographic organic photoreceptor to develop an image, utilizes a binder contained in a surface layer of the organic photoreceptor that comprises a polyester resin having a main chain of a biphenylfluorene repeating unit. Since the organic photoreceptor has effective initial electrostatic characteristics and experiences little change in electrostatic characteristics before and after soaking in a solvent for a liquid developer, even when the liquid developer directly contacts an organic photoreceptor, the organic photoreceptor is not eroded by the solvent, and the developer is not contaminated. Therefore, stable development can be performed.

    摘要: An organic photoconductor is disclosed, which comprises a cylindrical electrically conductive support and, formed thereon in this order, a charge-generating layer and a charge-transporting layer, the external surface of the cylindrical electrically conductive support having an index of surface area as defined by the following equation (I) of from 0.01 to 0.10, and the charge-generating layer having a multilayer structure comprising a charge-generating layer having n-type semiconductor characteristics and a charge-generating layer having p-type semiconductor characteristics: (Sa/Sm)−1  (I) wherein Sa is the actual surface area of the external surface of the cylindrical electrically conductive support and Sm is the theoretical surface area thereof calculated on the assumption that the support is an ideal cylinder. The organic photoconductor of the present invention employs an inexpensive cylindrical electrically conductive support and is excellent in electrical properties and image quality despite the use of the inexpensive support.
