    摘要: The development device of the present invention has a rotating shutter supported rotatably between a supply opening formed on a toner supply device and a receiving opening formed on a developing tank. The rotating shutter has an open section extending in the axial direction of the roller-shaped main section as well as opened in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction thereof, opening and shutting the supply opening in conjunction with attachment and detachment operation of the developing tank. The rotating shutter shuts the supply opening by covering the supply opening with the outer surface of the roller-shaped main section, and opens the supply opening by communicating the supply opening and the receiving opening through the open section. Thus, it is possible to prevent the leakage of toner even after repetitively performing the attachment and detachment operation of the developing tank.

    摘要: The developer container includes a cylindrical container main body and a supporting member. The container main body includes a concavity and a discharge hole. The supporting member covers a portion containing the concavity and the discharge hole all over the circumference and rotatably supports the container main body, and includes a leading through hole for guiding the developer outside. A container side guide portion is arranged close to the concavity of the container main body.     摘要: A developer container of the present invention includes a container main body and a supporting member. The container main body is used to contain a developer. The supporting member supports the container main body in such a manner that the container main body is freely rotatable. Further, the container main body includes (i) a first container portion, (ii) a second container portion, and (iii) a third container portion. The third container portion includes a first and a second recess portion on its outer peripheral surface. The first recess portion is inwardly depressed in a radial direction of the third container portion. The second recess portion is so provided that the second recess portion is located oppositely to the first recess portion with respect to an axis line of the third container portion. In the first recess portion, a discharging opening is provided in the first recess portion so as to discharge the developer in a rotation direction in which the container main body rotates around the axis line. Further, a regulating member having a tube-like shape is provided so that the regulating member surrounds the discharging opening. The regulating member regulates a discharging amount of the developer. This allows the developer to be always evenly supplied.

The developing unit includes a developing housing, a developing agent contained in the developing unit and a developing agent applicator for applying the developing agent onto the surface of the electrostatic latent image-bearing member. A counter is provided that counts the number of times the developing unit has been used and that can be reset. In the developing unit is disposed a developing agent depletion detector that detects the depletion of the developing agent. The developing unit further has a reset that resets the counter when the use of the developing unit is started. When the developing agent depletion detector has detected the depletion of the developing agent, a developing unit exchange signal is formed to indicate that the developing unit be renewed. The developing unit exchange signal is formed even when the counter has counted a predetermined number that corresponds to the life of the developing unit.

    摘要: A method of determining the dew point or frost point of a gas containing a very small amount of water uses an optical dew point meter having a reflector mirror the temperature of which can be varied from room temperature to any point of -80.degree. C. or below, a device for contacting the reflector mirror with the gas to be measured, a light source for irradiating the reflector mirror with focused rays of light, and a detector for detecting the change in scattered light and/or reflected light due to the dew and/or frost condensed on the reflector mirror. The method gradually reduces the temperature of the reflector mirror, either before or while the reflector mirror and the gas contact, thereby condensing dew and/or frost on the reflector mirror. Following formation of dew and/or frost on the reflector mirror, the intensity of scattered light or reflected light is adjusted from a maximum value to a constant level, at a controlled temperature. The temperature at that constant level of light intensity is determined as the dew or frost point.

An electrode member having a U-shape in cross section is mounted in the housing member and has a bottom plate in the form of a a grid electrode and a pair of upright side plates extending along the charging wire. A plurality of cutouts are formed in the side plates and are so arranged that positions of the cutouts in one side plate are displaced from that of cutouts in the other side plate. A plurality of projections are formed on the side walls of the housing member at positions corresponding to the respective cutouts for engaging with the cutouts.
