摘要： The present invention relates to electronic units, communication systems and methods, information processing terminals and methods, and information processing apparatuses and methods which allow easy and quick communications. When a link pin 21A is inserted into a VCR 3, the VCR 3 reads the pin ID stored in the RF tag of the link pin 21A, and reports the pin ID and the address to a management server 1. When the management server 1 has already obtained the pin ID of a link pin 21B read by a television receiver 5, the management server 1 determines whether the group ID included in the pin ID reported by the VCR 3 is the same as the group ID included in the pin ID reported by the television receiver 5. When the management server 1 determines that they are the same, the management server 1 connects the VCR 3 to the television receiver 5. The present invention can be applied to various types of information processing apparatuses connected to a network.

When a link pin (21A) is inserted into a VCR (3), the VCR (3) reads a pin ID stored in an RF tag of the link pin (21A) and reports the pin ID and the address to a management server (1). When the management server (1) has already acquired a pin ID of the link pin (21B) read out by a television receiver (5), the management server (1) determines whether a group ID included in the pin ID reported from the VCR (3) is identical a group ID included in the pin ID reported from the television receiver (5). If the group IDs are determined to be identical, the VCR (3) is connected to the television receiver (5). The present invention can be applied to various information processing apparatuses connected to the network.

摘要： The present invention relates to a communication system and method, an information processing terminal and method, and an information processing apparatus and method which enable very suitable confirmation of details of an operation. In a PDA 11, an exterior image of a terminal is prepared as characteristic information representing characteristics of the PDA 11. Also, in the PDA 11, communication establishing information for establishing predetermined wireless communication with a personal computer 1 is prepared, and a built-in reader/writer 12 transmits both types of information to a reader/writer 2 of the personal computer 1. The personal computer 1 establishes wireless communication with the PDA 11 based on the communication establishing information, and controls a display unit 3 to display an exterior image of the PDA 11 based on the characteristic information while performing the establishing processing. The present invention can be applied to various types of information processing apparatuses such as personal computers and PDAs.

摘要： A user is enabled to easily access a data area on a network, and to use the data area with security, wherein a recording medium records an address for accessing a prescribed area of a storage apparatus installed in an other apparatus and keys to be used for encrypting data. When the recording medium is installed in the apparatus, the address is read-out from the recording medium and, based on the read-out address, accessing to the prescribed area is started. When the user actually accesses the recording medium, the prescribed area is accessed. In the apparatus to which the recording medium is installed, processing such as a path conversion is carried out as required so that the user is able to operate without mentioning such procedure.
