摘要: The data communication apparatus of the present invention includes a CPU, operation panel, reading unit, image memory for storing read image data, resolution converter for converting stored image data to an optional resolution, telephone communication unit for transmitting data over a telephone line, network communication unit for transmitting data over an internet line, and a printing unit. The resolution converter converts fine detail data to low detail data and sends the low detail data to the telephone communication unit when transmitting data over the telephone line. In this way data reception reliably occurs simultaneously with data transmission. Thereafter, when fine detail request data including resolution data are received over the telephone line, the data are converted to the desired resolution, and sent to the network communication unit. In this way the apparatus attains excellent operationality since fine detail data are transmitted only as necessary.

摘要: The invention provides an image processing apparatus capable of reliably and quickly retrieving, from an image, a pattern (“a layout pattern”) including a plurality of elements and being specified based on the relative layout information among the elements. To retrieve the pattern from the image, the apparatus first detects two elements of the specific pattern giving a maximum distance therebetween, specifies positions where the other elements composing the layout pattern together with the two elements should be present based on the positional relationship between the two elements, and recognizes the layout pattern in the image when the other elements are accurately detected in the specified positions.

摘要: Magnet powder has a composition expressed by (R1XR2YBZT100−X−Y−Z)100−QNQ (in formula, R1 is at least one kind of element selected from rare earth elements, R2 is at least one kind of element selected from Zr, Hf and Sc, T is at least one kind of element selected from Fe and Co, and X, Y, Z and Q are numbers satisfying 2 atomic %≦X, 0.01 atomic %≦Y, 4≦X+Y≧20 atomic %, 0≦Z≦10 atomic %, and 0.1≦Q≦20 atomic %, respectively), and TbCu7 crystal phase as a principal phase. In such magnet powder, a ratio of fine particles of which maximum diameter is 22 &mgr;m or less is 20% by weight or less. Alternatively, surface roughness of particles constituting the magnet powder is 5 &mgr;m or less in terms of maximum height Ry provided in JIS B 0601-1994. Accordingly, to such a magnet powder, excellent magnetic properties can be obtained with reproducibility.

摘要: A rotary head drum unit for a recording/reproducing apparatus comprises a stationary upper drum provided at its lower end with a taper surface for biasing a magnetic tape downward, a stationary lower drum provided in its circumference with a helical tape lead or guide surface to guide the lower edge of a tape helically extended across the upper and lower drums, and rotary heads inserted between the upper and lower drums. At least a portion of the taper surface of the upper drum in a lead-out region near a position where the magnetic tape departs from the rotary head drum unit is a helical taper section extended helical substantially in parallel to the helical tape lead or guide surface of the lower drum. The taper surface having the helical taper section is able to bias the magnetic taper downward in the lead-out region so that the lower edge of the magnetic tape is guided securely by the helical tape guide surface of the lower drum and keeps the upper edge of the magnetic tape taut through the entire arc of contact of the magnetic tape with the rotary head drum unit, so that the magnetic tape is secured for stable running.
