    摘要: A method and apparatus for performing a handover are disclosed. An Internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) client registers with an IMS network and establishes a media independent handover (MIH) session with an MIH application server using a session initiation protocol (SIP). The IMS client establishes a session for IP-based service, (e.g., voice over IP (VoIP)), with a communication peer using an SIP. MIH messages are exchanged for handover with the MIH application server over IP. After handover, the session is resumed. A serving call session control function (S-CSCF) triggers the MIH application server based on a string “MIH services” and a unique identifier included in an INVITE request. The IMS client may send a REFER request to the MIH application server after the handover to resume the session. Alternatively, the IMS client may send a RE-INVITE request to the MIH application server and the communication peer.

    摘要: A Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) media independent handover (MIH) service access point (SAP) is configured to provide MIH event services, (e.g., IEEE 802.21 event services), by mapping service primitives to the MIH event services. The service primitives may be 3GPP service primitives which originate from at least one of a radio resources (RR) layer, a logical link control (LLC) layer, a general packet radio service (GPRS) mobility management (GMM) layer, a session management (SM) layer, a non-access stratum (NAS), an access stratum (AS) and an evolved universal terrestrial radio access (E-UTRA)/evolved core network (E-CORE) system. The event services may include a link parameter change event service, a link up event service, a link going down event service, a link down event service, a handover complete event service and a link detected event service.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for supporting aggregation of multiple component carriers are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) in an idle state performs a cell search to detect a downlink anchor carrier and camps on the downlink anchor carrier. The downlink anchor carrier is a component carrier and may be assigned for synchronization and idle mode operations for the WTRU. The WTRU via the downlink anchor carrier receives a broadcast channel for a broadcast message, a paging channel for a paging message, and a control channel for control information necessary while in the idle state. The WTRU receives data via an aggregated carrier having at least two component carriers including a data carrier. The data carrier being a component carrier assigned for data transfer to the WTRU in a connected state.

    摘要: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) prioritizes triggered events for the same measurement object to lessen the quantity of events which are included in measurement reports, while conveying no less information. The WTRU triggers an event, starts a time-to-trigger timer for the event, and includes the event in a measurement report. Additionally, where a WTRU measures on multiple frequencies, the event triggering is prioritized according to priorities associated with the frequencies.
