Abstract:
A mounting structure for mounting a pivot arm to an implement has a cylindrical member, an adjusting sleeve, and a mounting bolt extending through the cylindrical member and adjusting sleeve to fix the cylindrical member and adjusting sleeve together. The cylindrical member extends through a bore of a bearing housing for rotation within the bearing housing. The adjusting sleeve has a threaded external surface. A disc spring is positioned on the adjusting sleeve. An adjusting nut is threaded onto the threaded external surface of the adjusting sleeve. The adjusting nut can be tightened to compress the disc spring to create a lateral bearing force against the bearing housing. The bearing housing can be integral with a pivot arm for mounting a gauge wheel assembly on a planter row unit, or the bearing housing can be a fixed part for mounting a pivot arm for a closing/press wheel on a drill.
Abstract:
A motor drives a seeding system. A sensor senses a characteristic of the motor and a motor jam is detected based on the sensed characteristic. The motor is momentarily reversed, when a jam is detected.
Abstract:
A coulter with a coulter disc for delivering agricultural materials into soil along one direction F of travel, a height measuring apparatus which is located in the region of the coulter disc for measuring a penetration depth Tm of the coulter disc into the soil, a coulter holder for swivelling holding of the coulter disc on a coulter frame and height setting relative to the coulter frame, the penetration depth T of the coulter disc being controllable/adjustable depending on the measured penetration depth Tm.
Abstract:
A depth control system for an agricultural implement includes a single pivot lever. Additionally, the depth control system is mounted to the single pivot lever. Further, the depth control system includes a gauge wheel pivotally coupled to a frame of the agricultural implement. The control system controls a height of the gauge wheel relative to the frame via movement of the single pivot lever while the gauge wheel is coupled to a front pivot gauge wheel assembly. Furthermore, the depth control system is configured to control the height of the gauge wheel relative to the frame via movement of the single pivot lever while the gauge wheel is coupled to a rear pivot gauge wheel assembly.
Abstract:
An agricultural seed planting implement has a frame moveable in an up and down direction relative to soil over which the frame traverses. A seed trench opening assembly mounted on the frame includes disks mounted side by side and having a forming point positioned in between. A wearable insert of plastic is slidably but non-rotatably retained in the forming point to abut the disks when they are deflected. The disks are removable to enable simple replacement of the wearable insert.
Abstract:
A hinge for a gauge wheel arm for movably swinging the gauge wheel away from the agricultural equipment, such as an agricultural planter, is disclosed. The hinge is located along the length of the gauge wheel arm for rotating the gauge wheel away from the agricultural equipment to expose an inner surface of the gauge wheel and an interior portion of the agricultural equipment. The gauge wheel arm rotates about an angle of rotation formed by the hinge and permitting rotation between 0 and 180 degrees. The gauge wheel arm may also include a lock bolt for preventing rotation of the gauge wheel when desired.
Abstract:
A seed planting apparatus has a first disc is rotatably disposed about a first axis which is substantially perpendicular to a line of travel. A following trenching device has a second disc rotatably attached along a second axis transverse to the line of travel but not parallel to the first axis. A third disc is rotatably attached along a third axis which is transverse to the line of travel but not parallel to either the first axis or the second axis. At least one of the first, second and third discs has a first side has an outer periphery and a second side has an outer periphery. The second side is spaced from the first side and has a larger diameter than the first side. A transition surface between the outer periphery of the first side and the outer periphery of the second side being annular and concave.
Abstract:
A suspension set for an agricultural implement has a first arm; a holder provided to be attached to a portion of the chassis of the agricultural implement and comprising an attachment point for receiving said first arm to allow pivoting of said arm in relation to the attachment point; a first flange associated with said arm opposite to the attachment point; and at least a disc associated with the arm by means of said first flange; wherein said holder comprises a second attachment point to receive a second suspension arm to allow pivoting of said second arm in relation to the second attachment point, wherein the second arm may be inserted in said second attachment point; and said first flange may be replaced by a second flange when said second arm is inserted, wherein said second flange is associated with said first and second arms and with said disc; wherein the insertion of the second arm and the replacement by the second flange provides a pantographic movement to said disc.
Abstract:
Viewed in the direction of travel, fertiliser coulters and swivel-mounted seed coulters 13 are arranged at coulter arms 40 on the frame 6 of a pneumatic precision seed drill. Between them there is a working device designed as a roller 15, which is designed for the re-compaction of the soil thrown up by the fertiliser coulter 12, the pre-compaction of soil between the working device 14 and seed coulter 13, and as a depth guidance roller for the precision seed drill.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a fertilizer application system that may include a planter implement, a sleeve attached to the planter implement, and a flexible hose extending through at least a portion of the sleeve. In example embodiments the flexible hose may be configured to transport liquid fertilizer from a fertilizer tank to a furrow in a ground created by the planter implement.
