Abstract: A tool assembly for a planter row unit resides at the forward end of the row unit beneath the tool bar. The assembly includes a bracket assembly connected to the row unit, with a ground engaging tool removably mounted on the bracket assembly for movement between raised and lowered positions. A linear actuator controls the position of the tool. The tool may also include a depth control mechanism. Different tools can be interchanged on the bracket assembly.

Abstract: A row unit for a seeding machine includes a ground view sensor coupled to the frame. The ground view sensor is operable to sense the furrow and generate depth signals corresponding to actual sensed depth of the furrow. The row unit also includes a controller configured to receive the signals, and a downforce adjustment mechanism coupled to the frame and to the controller. The controller is configured to activate the downforce adjustment mechanism to adjust a downforce on the frame based on the signals received by the controller.

Abstract: A ground working apparatus is supported on the toolbar of an agricultural implement for injecting liquid fertilizer into the ground. A disc arm is pivotally coupled to a mounting bracket on the toolbar to extend downwardly and rearwardly to a coulter disc rotatably supported on the lower end of the disc arm to cut the ground. An upright pivot assembly pivotally couples the upper end of the disc arm relative to the mounting bracket to pivot about an upright axis while preventing upward movement of the disc. A shank is pivotal on the disc arm to support a shovel trailing the disc to form an undercut trough connected to the ground cut formed by the coulter disc. A pressure mechanism prevents upward pivotal movement of the shovel relative to the disc arm until an upward pressure applied to the shovel exceeds a prescribed holding force of the pressure mechanism.

Abstract: A system for dispensing agricultural products includes at least one source of agricultural product; at least one agricultural product tube, a seed sensing device, a metering system, and a sensor assembly. At least one agricultural product tube is connected to the source of agricultural product. The seed sensing device is configured to control the delivery of the agricultural product. The metering system is coupled to at least one agricultural product tube and to the seed sensing device and is configured to synchronize the placement of agricultural product relative to the placement of seed. A sensor assembly includes a signal conditioning circuit. The signal conditioning circuit is configured to provide an output signal representing an indication of the presence of the agricultural product. At least one seed for use in determining the synchronized placement of seed and the agricultural product in correct proximity with one another in a seed furrow.

Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus for imaging and characterizing a soil surface and a trench in the soil surface formed by an agricultural implement. The sensors are disposed on the agricultural implement in data communication with a processor to generate the soil surface and trench images which may be displayed to the operator. In one embodiment, the sensors include one or more time of flight cameras for determining a depth of the trench and other characteristics of the surrounding soil surface and the trench, including detection of seeds, soil or other debris in the trench and moisture lines within the trench. The system may control operating parameters of the implement based on the generated images.

In some embodiments. at least one mower is mounted ahead of the row unit assembly to provide mulched crop residue for processing by the coulter disc. The system may also include a product redirection system and a modular opener assembly for selectively configuring the placement of agricultural product in a furrow.

Abstract: A system and method are described for planting seedballs into soft soils at a certain depth, in each planting point, using unmanned Ground Vehicle in uninterrupted motion. The system penetrates the soil, deposits seedballs into the soil and cover them after penetration. The system delivers seedballs from a hoper to a planting stinger comprising a tube for seedballs delivery to ground and two moving shovels which create a hole in the soil for depositing a seedball therein and then facilitate covering the hole with the seedball therein with sand. The system is configured to allow accurate planting of seedballs while in continuous uninterrupted motion, at a predetermined depth of the soil, at planting points of the sand having different distances between each other without affecting the area closest to the planting area and free of wheel or track slippage.
