When the individual is lying on his or her back, the pillow provides for proper alignment of the body to relieve pressure on joints, nerves, muscles and skin. Its unique posturing permits the body to relax and rest more comfortably and also potentially increase blood flow and nerve transmission throughout the body or through specific areas of the body.     摘要： The invention relates to an ergonomically designed pillow having a shape that offers support for a user's head and/or limbs through a portion of their range of motion with respect to the user's torso without having to reposition or reconfigure the pillow. In the preferred embodiment the pillow has a substantially fixed radius curved shape designed to correspond to the rotation of the head with respect to the shoulders. Therefore, the head of a user resting on their side can be comfortably supported on the pillow and will be similarly supported as the head is rotated forward and backward with respect to the shoulders. In addition, this substantially uniform curved design enables the pillow to be rotated forward or backward and provide the same head support while also providing support for the user's arms or back, respectively.

Portions of the pillow are interconnected by a full-length, comparatively narrow strip of foam (11) joined to a head section (12) supporting a user's head separately from one arm of the user. An intermediate section (14) of foam at the waist of the pillow supports a user's rib cage in such a way as to avoid an unnatural curvature of the user's spine. The foot of the pillow provides a sizable cushion disposed between the knees and ankles of the user. Design of the pillow provides a resting position allowing bodily appendages underneath the pillow to be free of the weight of those appendages resting above the pillow. The entire pillow may be covered with a one-piece fitted cover of cotton percale or similar material, with a full length closure extending along one side.
