摘要： A locking assembly for retaining a pair of shutters in a closed position on a dwelling, including an elongate backing bracket adapted to be fixedly mounted to the dwelling, the backing bracket including a pair of support portions extending laterally relative to the length of the backing bracket, and an outer locking portion. The shutters in their closed position are in abutting contact with the support portions, the outer locking portion extends through a gap defined between adjacent edges of the closed pair of shutters. The locking assembly further includes an elongate retention bracket having a channel in which the outer locking portion is received, and a pair of retention portions extending laterally relative to the length of the retention bracket, the outer locking portion adapted to be secured to the retention bracket within the channel. The adjacent edges of the closed pair of shutters are captured between the support portions and the retention portions, retaining the pair of shutters in a closed position.

摘要： A shutter system is disclosed which is unitized in a single rectangular frame or bracket with a window or door for use in a building opening that includes a plurality of shutter plates that can be folded and unfolded, each of the shutter plates having a hinged joint with adjoining shutter plates. The shutter assembly shields an enclosure from environmental elements. The rectangular bracket has guide members with tracks for guiding the shutter plates using extensions with rollers from each of the hinged joints to cooperate with the guide members. In one embodiment, the moveable flat plats slides behind the stationary flat plats. In another embodiment, the moveable flat plats are collected at one side of the rectangular frame providing maximum opening of the enclosure.

摘要： An apparatus for opening and closing window shutter slats or louvers converts rotary motion by a knob or electric motor into rotary motion of one of the slats. The apparatus is attached to a frame structure that is included with the window shutter and which surrounds the slats. A connecting rod that is pivotally attached to all of the slats pivots all of the slats an amount that is nearly equal to that of the one slat. The knob includes a first shaft that is attached to a drive gear in an enclosure which turns a driven gear. The driven gear is attached to a second shaft which is adapted to turn a pin end of the one slat. The motor is adapted to rotate one of the slats directly. Retrofit use and use in newly manufactured shutters is described. The apparatus can also be used to pivot open the shutter with respect to a pair of hinges that pivotally attach the shutter to a surrounding support structure.

摘要： A blind slat assembly for door/window Venetian blinds includes a door/window frame made up of a plurality of side brackets wherein the left and right side brackets are provided with a plurality of retaining holes disposed at the corresponding inner sides thereon respectively for blind slats to be mounted thereto, and a linkage rod is attached at the same side of the blind slats thereon. A thicker locating rod is disposed at the center of the blind slat thereon, and a protruded coupling section is extending at both ends of the central locating rod thereof respectively to be registered with the retaining holes of the left/right side brackets thereof so as to attach the blind slat onto the door/window frame thereby. Via the flexibility of the blind slats thereof, each blind slat is capable of being pushed at both lateral sides thereof till slightly bent into an arc shape at the middle section thereof, permitting the protruded coupling sections of the central locating rod thereof to detach from the retaining holes of the left/right side brackets according to the deformation of the blind slat thereof. Thus, the blind slat is retrieved in a fast and easy manner for the replacement of a new blind slat assembled in the same way above without the door/window frame being troublesomely dismantled in the operation thereof, facilitating an easy and fast dismounting as well as assembling of the blind slats for variation and replacement thereof.

The shutter is resistant to the adverse effects of sunlight, humidity, rain and wind, and will retard flying objects, and will pass commonly used missile tests for building materials. The resulting shutter will also withstand substantial stresses from wind loads, so as to perform satisfactorily in wind load tests. 摘要： A shutter assembly for installation on the outside of a building wall including one or two shutter panels fitted with top and bottom rollers moveable along tracks in a plane outwardly spaced from and parallel to the external wall. A rack is carried by each panel inside thereof and a pinion, meshing with this rack, is carried by a shaft extending through the wall and provided at its inner end, inside a building room with a crank wheel for moving the shutter panels between opened and closed position at the side and in front of a window opening respectively. The shutter panels are heat-insulated and are provided with seals to extend around the periphery of the window opening when the panels are in closed position to thereby form an air insulating chamber with a window unit within the window opening. The top rollers together with the rack are fitted with a spring suspension to permit easy installation and removal of the rollers on and from the tracks and to accommodate any variation in the vertical position of the pinion which may have occurred during the installation.

摘要： The present invention is a sunlight reducing cover for intake and exhaust louvers on a food crop storage building. The invention also decreases the likelihood of ice formation or dirt fouling of the building louvers. The invention interfits within a frame, which is installed over the louvers, preferably inside the building. The invention is generally comprised of a free-flowing, air permeable, plurality of passageways. Each passageway having a first and a second end, with the passageways being of offset configuration wherein the first end is offset from the second end to an extent that a linear path does not exist between the two ends. The preferred embodiment of the present invention is generally comprised of a plurality of panels of generally wave form. The invention is manufactured by attaching the top surface of one panel to the bottom surface of another panel in such a fashion that the period of the wave form of each panel is 180.degree. out of phase with any panel juxtaposed with it, creating a plurality of passageways. In the preferred embodiment of this invention, the panels are made out of an opaque, non-reflective and ultraviolet light resistant polyvinyl chloride.
