    摘要: An improved equalizer for gripping two or more cords of a shade is described. The equalizer of the invention comprises a molded body member having a tapered inner channel into which a molded insert member fits. The cords are placed within the channel through a gap formed in one wall of the body member, and are clamped against a rear wall thereof by the insert member. As the insert member is inserted more fully into the body member, the cords are compressed between the insert and the rear surface of the body member, and the insert is permanently wedged into the body member.

    摘要: A gripping device for selectively locking and releasing a flexible member, such as a rope, which may be moved over a guide surface, comprises a lever which may be swung about an axis and which is mounted in a frame. An engaging member is swingably mounted on the lever, and by means of an operating handle on which an eccentric cooperating with the lever is mounted, the lever may be moved between a locking position (FIG. 1) and a releasing position (FIG. 2). By movement of the operating handle in a direction towards and beyond the locking position a force-transmitting projection formed on the operating handle may be brought into direct engagement with an abutment surface on the engaging member, whereby a particularly strong and quick locking of the flexible member may be performed.

    摘要: A cord clamp provides a device for securing shoe laces, belts and tie cords with advertising possibilities. The cord clamp has a thin uniform thickness wall elastomeric hemisphere of a plastic composition, with a centrally disposed post radially projecting integrally inwardly. A central first aperture pierces the post, the first aperture being disposed in and through the post parallel to the hemisphere diameter, the post having a length disposed just short of the sphere radius length. The hemisphere wall has an interiorly disposed recessed groove therein, adjacent and around the hemisphere edge. A rigid, thin circular plate has a second central aperture disposed there through which allows the encompassing hemisphere to be inwardly flexed and the short post to move through the second aperture positioned in the circular plate. By feeding a pair of shoe laces through the central first aperture in the post, in opposed directions, and then releasing the finger pressure on the elastomeric hemisphere, the pair of laces are secured against the rigid plate, instead of tying the laces. Advertising indicia can be disposed on the exterior top of the resilient hemisphere.

    摘要: A realeasable pull cord engagement device for venetian blinds having a mounting post consisting of a cylindrical pedestal extending from a base and a stud extending from the center of the outer end of the pedestal. A slider has end and side walls encompassing a cylindrical hollow portion which slides over the pedestal. Aligned openings pass through opposite portions of the side walls of the slide and through the pedestal. A conical spring abuts the inside the end wall of the slider and engages the stud to urge the slider and pedestal apart so that a pull cord passing through the openings is engaged due to misalignment of the openings. When the slider is pressed over the pedestal the openings are aligned and the pull cord may readily be pulled through them.

In this way the drawing element will have imparted to it essentially rectilinear clamping over a certain distance at a uniform clamping force, with one of its clamping surfaces being arranged on an element which is so arranged as to move along an oblique path in relation to the second clamping surface, which is situated on a support component connected to the last-mentioned second clamping surface.

    摘要: A device for gripping or locking a rope or wire comprises a pair of rope engaging members or jaw members defining a pair of oppositely arranged wire engaging surfaces forming a passageway for the rope. The jaw members are mounted in the frame of the gripping device by means of a swinging link suspension including a pair of swinging links. The jaw members are suspended so that the frictional forces acting between the rope and the jaw members cause displacement of the rope engaging surfaces thereon in mutual parallel relationship towards each other, when a pulling force is applied to the rope in a first direction, while the rope engaging surfaces are displaced away from each other, when a pulling force is applied to the rope or wire in a second opposite direction. This means that the rope is pinched between the rope engaging surfaces, when the rope is pulled in the said first direction, and released, when pulled in said second direction. The jaw members may comprise a first jaw member having a U-shaped cross-section with an inner bottom surface defining a first rope engaging surface, and a second jaw member displaceably received within the first jaw member. Corresponding swinging links suspending said first and second jaw members may be mounted pivotally about a common axis and define an angle therebetween, and these swinging members are preferably formed as an integral part. The jaw members may be moved to a rope releasing position by means of an operating handle.
