    摘要: An ice storage and delivery system for radially displacing fragmentary ice stored within an ice storage bin. The ice storage and delivery system has a rotating ice rake of elongated members which radially displaces a portion of the fragmentary ice stored in the storage bin as each elongated member passes through the pile of fragmentary ice. The ice rake pivots in the storage bin between first and second positions such that the rotating elongated members may radially displace the fragmentary ice into a screw conveyor in the floor of the storage bin while in the first position and level-out the fragmentary ice stored in the storage bin while in the second position. In order to displace the fragmentary ice into the screw conveyor and remove the fragmentary ice from the storage bin while in the first position, the displacement assembly translates in the storage bin along the length of the storage bin.

    摘要: The present invention comprises an ice directing chute mechanism including a slide portion and a housing portion. The slide portion is securable to an ice dispensing machine. In particular, the slide is securable to a regulated opening of the dispenser. The regulated opening includes a door means that is operable between a closed and open position by an operating mechanism such as, a solenoid. The solenoid is activated by a switch electrically connected thereto whereby contacting of the switch results in operating the solenoid to open the door. The door is positioned between an ice retaining bin of the dispenser and the slide portion. A housing portion is releasably secured to and pivotally suspended from the slide portion. Together, the slide and housing portions define an ice channel ending with a downward directed dispense orifice. The housing portion includes a surface portion thereof for contacting the switch that operates the solenoid.

    摘要: An apparatus for dispensing ice includes a bin and a shroud that contains a recess for housing a wheel. The shroud mounts to a front wall of the bin and includes a chute that communicates exterior to the bin. The shroud further includes a curved plate that directs ice into the recess so that the wheel can raise the ice to the chute. A plate mounts at an angle sloping downward towards the front wall of the bin to direct ice onto the curved plate of the shroud. A discharge chute assembly mounts to the ice bin and communicates with the chute of the shroud to permit the delivery of the ice exterior to the bin. A gear motor drives the wheel to facilitate the lifting of the ice to the chute of the shroud. Alternatively, in a combination ice and beverage dispenser, the plate mounted within the bin is replaced with a cold plate mounted within the bin at an angle sloping downward towards the front wall of the bin. The cold plate directs ice in the bin onto the curved plate of the shroud and communicates at inlets to a beverage source to cool beverages before dispensing. Dispensing valves communicate with outlets from the cold plate to permit the dispensing of beverages from the ice and beverage dispensing apparatus.

    摘要: A beverage cooling system has an ice storage bin having a mechanical agitator disposed therein. The ice storage bin includes an opening at a bottom portion thereof, and the mechanical agitator is actuable to mechanically agitate ice in the ice bin and mechanically force ice through the opening. An ice guide is disposed adjacent the opening in the ice storage bin. A cold plate is disposed adjacent the ice guide. The cold plate has an inclined upper surface thereof and includes at least one beverage line disposed underneath the upper surface. The ice guide is positioned to deflect and guide ice onto the inclined upper :surface of the cold plate, wherein the ice is moved along the upper surface by mechanical force provided by an actuation of the agitator.

    摘要: An ice dispenser apparatus includes an ice making mechanism (1) and, an ice storage box (5) for storing ice pieces produced by the ice making mechanism. When the ice pieces are dispensed a discharge port shutter (9) normally closing a discharge port (5c) provided in the ice storage box (5) at a lower portion thereof is opened by a discharge port shutter actuator (11). A transient storage chamber (13) is provided in communication with the discharge port (5c), the chamber having a normally closed aperture for transiently storing a predetermined amount of ice pieces discharged from the ice storage box (5) through the discharge port (5c) when the discharge port shutter (9) is opened. A transient storage chamber shutter (10) is provided in association with the transient storage chamber (13) and is adapted to be actuated by a transient storage chamber shutter actuator (12) for selectively opening or closing the aperture. The discharge port shutter (9) and the transient storage chamber shutter (9) are opened and closed by the associated actuators (11, 12), respectively, in such a manner that the predetermined amount of ice pieces is temporarily stored once within the transient storage chamber (13) before being dispensed therefrom.

    摘要: Effective active storage volume of an ice dispenser is increased by an upward and forward sloping bottom wall with a compound curve. A stainless steel helically bent auger rod has a conical shape and closely fits within a trough having a relatively large radius at a rear and a relatively small radius at a front. Larger radius curved lateral areas complete the bottom wall. Ice moves upward toward the front of the bin and then upward at an obtuse angle toward the top of the bin and then tumbles rearward and downward. The rotating auger prevents bridging and continually pushes more ice forward than is dispensed. A helical auger with solid flytes radially extends from a forward portion of the shaft to move ice cubes through the dispensing opening in the front wall at the front end of the trough.

    摘要: An ice storage bin for the storage and delivery of fragmentary ice for use in an enclosed area. The ice storage bin has at least one ice rake assembly having an arm which pivots about a lower corner of the bin and supports rakes that serve to move the fragmentary ice contained in the bin toward a screw for discharge from the bin. A rake drive shaft provides the pivot axis about which the rake arm rotates. The rake arm contacts the ice in storage by the action of gravity so that the rakes dig into the ice. An additional rake arm assembly can be disposed on the opposite side of the bin or parallel to the first rake arm assembly to increase the capacity of the bin. The bin is formed from beams which can be premanufactured and readily placed in a standard storage container. Apparatus are provided for raising the ice rake arm from the surface of the ice to a vertical position during the filling of the ice bin.

    摘要: What is disclosed is an ice maker and dispenser for an area that is subject to microbiological contamination, such as a hospital, and including an ice manufacturing and an ice dumping unit having the improvement comprising a circular ice container and stirrer with an aperture through which ice shapes can be dropped, a cylindrical chute disclosed below the aperture for conveying the ice shapes outwardly through a door, a cantilever corkscrew impeller for moving the ice shapes along the chute and motors and drives for effecting rotation of the stirrer in the ice container and the impeller for moving the ice exteriorly of the door. The ice chute is cylindrical, smooth and easily cleaned and sterilized when the corkscrew impeller is removed. The corkscrew impeller is easily removed by way of a quick disconnect to facilitate its being cleaned and sterilized. A short cylindrical chute is provided upwardly into the ice container so as to be easily cleaned and sterilized. A slip over spout is provided for the exterior end of the chute and extending through the door and is easily cleaned and sterilized.
