摘要: The bomb container comprises: a hollow steel spherical housing, mounted on trailer vehicle, having a single circular access port to which is welded a massive steel re-inforcing ring; a circular steel plate door disposed within the housing with its outer peripheral face normally fitting the inner face of the ring to close the port; an external hinge for hingeing the door to the housing to swing inwardly and open the port comprising two spaced hinge lugs attached to the outside of the loop, at the top thereof, a third hinge lug hinged to the first two hinge lugs, and a U-shaped hinge extension arm having an upper end attached to the first two hinge lugs and a lower end welded to the outer face of the door; and a safety operating arm attached to the third hinge lug at one end and extending upwardly and over the housing and down the side thereof opposite the port, for opening and closing the door, and for normally keeping it closed by gravity. The housing contains a bomb rack hinged to the rear wall, opposite the port, and cables or ropes attached to the rack and extending through the housing for supporting the rack or lowering it to receive a bomb.

摘要: Desensitization of explosive ordnance is effected by the incorporation of aesensitizing agent into a matrix support material to form a bomb liner. The matrix support material holds the desensitizer in place, provides a barrier between the explosive and the metal casing, and controllably releases the desensitizing agent as the temperature of the explosive ordnance nears the rapid decomposition temperature.

摘要: A mobile container in which an explosive, such as an infernal machine or a time bomb, can be placed after discovery for transport to a suitable location for disarming and whereby, in the event of an accidental explosion within the container, there will be no resultant injury to persons or damage to property adjacent thereto. The container has an upright cylindrical shape with the shell and base thereof being made of aluminum armor plate. A cover, pivotally connected to the top of the container, is made in the form of a ballistic grille to vent explosion gases in an upwardly direction, and a wheel suspension system is provided allowing the container to resiliently deflect downward in response to a detonation within the container so as to seat the container upon the wheel support surface and thereby prevent damage to the wheel suspension system.

A system comprising a communication node and a launcher comprising an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in a pre-launch state configured to receive and respond to command inputs from the communication node.

摘要: Embodiments employ venting features and damping components both inside and concentric to a fuzewell to improve munition fuze survivability. Damping components are selected based on their densities and stiffness properties. A shock damping liner with longitudinal grooves is affixed to an inner surface of the fuzewell and envelops the fuze. At least one shock damping collar constrains and attenuates shack experienced by the fuze. A shock damping ring is concentric about the outer surface of the fuzewell and attenuates shock, between the outermost munition system layer (the casing) and the fuzewell. Longitudinal vents in the fuzewell wall and radial apertures oriented transverse to the longitudinal vents are used for off-gassing. The venting and component orientation combination provides increased damping, resulting in impedance mismatches across multiple interface surfaces in the munition, which reduces shock vibrational pressures and stresses transferred to the fuze.

摘要: Embodiments are directed cook-off mitigation systems. As assembled, a munition fuzewell is torqued into the aft end of a munition. The fuzewell is hollow and has an inner and an outer surface. The hollow fuzewell is configured to release during cook-off. Release is assisted by employing a biased equivalent strength threaded release ring concentric about the fuzewell. The biased equivalent strength threaded release ring has a threaded inner surface and a threaded outer surface. The biased equivalent strength threaded release ring's threaded inner surface threadingly-engages with threads on the fuzewell's outer surface. A munition case is concentric about the biased equivalent strength threaded release ring.
