Abstract: A selling server stores prescription data of a customer transmitted from an optometrist terminal of an optometrist who performs optometry for a glasses prescription through a communication line in association with customer identification information, transmits image data of a frame candidate group of glasses to a customer terminal, transmits image data of a lens candidate group of the glasses to the customer terminal, receives information relating to a frame and a lens purchased by the customer and determined on the basis of a combined image of a frame image selected by the customer, a lens image selected by the customer, and a face image of the customer, and transmits prescription data of the customer to a lens company terminal of a lens company which processes the lens purchased by the customer.

The information in the form of data is stored on or in the glass or plastic body by creating at least one marking with a marking system. The marking can be read by a reading apparatus. The marking system has an interface for reading information individualizing the optical element. The marking is created permanently by the marking system on or in the optical element at a definition point of a local body-specific coordinate system set by two points on or in the optical element. In this body coordinate system, the manufacturer specifies the position of the lens horizontal and/or the far and/or the near and/or the prism reference point.

Abstract: Systems and kits for replenishing an electrowetting ophthalmic device are described. In an embodiment, the system includes an electrowetting ophthalmic device including a lens material defining a cavity encasing an aqueous electrowetting solution; a replenishing solution having an osmolarity approximately equal to an osmolarity of the aqueous electrowetting solution; and a container shaped to carry the electrowetting ophthalmic device and the replenishing solution and to position the electrowetting ophthalmic device in contact with the replenishing solution when the electrowetting ophthalmic device and the replenishing solution are carried by the container. In an embodiment, the osmolarity of the aqueous electrowetting solution is higher than an osmolarity of a tear fluid of an eye.

Abstract: A method for adjusting spectacles in which a virtual fitting process of a parametric frame model of a spectacle frame on a 3D model of the head of a person, to whom the spectacles are to be fitted, is divided into two fitting procedures. In a first fitting procedure, the parametric frame model is adjusted to the 3D model of the head to meet specific fitting guidelines for the parametric frame model. Fitting guidelines of this nature may be specified by a frame manufacturer to comply with aesthetic criteria in the fitting. Anatomic fitting is then performed in the second fitting procedure.

A distant server is contacted using the identifier and data related to the spectacle lens is so gathered. On a second aspect, data related to the spectacle lens is provided to a predetermined database. Upon receiving a request issued from a requester, the database is accessed and at least some of the data is retrieved, the request including at least part of the identifier, and the retrieved data is sent to the requester.
