    摘要： A bracket is provided as part of an "E" type railway coupler and located totally below and within the envelope of the coupler guard arm for attachment of an air line fitting. A hose is attached for coupling the air line to the adjacent car and to which another hose is attached for connection to the air line on the car body. The hose is oriented in the direction of the coupling line and supported in a position where the glad hand carried thereby is a controlled distance above the rail height.

    摘要： An electrical cable coupling, in particular for a mechanical buffer coupling of a rail vehicle, comprising first and second coupling heads each including a contact carrier with a recess therein. One of the coupling heads includes two spaced centering pins and the other of the coupling heads includes two spaced bushings into which the centering pins are engaged to center the coupling heads with each other. A photoconductor insert is detachably and resiliently mounted into each of the recesses. One of the inserts has a protruding portion which fits into a recessed portion of the other of the inserts. A spring-loaded photoconductor member is shiftably mounted in the protruding portion and aligned with a fixed photoconductor mounted in the recessed portion. The recessed portion is covered by a slotted gate structure which is movable by sword-shaped lugs on the other coupling head.

    摘要： A trainline for a railway car has a ball valve structure adjacent the end of the car movable between open and closed positions for controlling the flow of air through the trainline. A ball valve element is mounted within the body of the ball valve structure and is freely floating therein for maintaining a tight seal against the downstream seat when the valve is in closed position. Opposed stems for rotating the ball valve element are mounted on opposed sides of the valve body and extend from the valve body in a generally horizontal direction. An actuating rod is connected to each stem and extends to the adjacent side of the railway car so that the valve may be actuated from either side of the railway car. Actuation of one rod effects simultaneous actuation of the other rod.

    摘要： A system for disconnecting any desired car from a train of cars in which an actuating air supply line and an instruction air line are connected to a compressed air source in a locomotive to extend through the train. Air under low pressure is continuously supplied to the actuating air supply line extending through the cars, and the operator manipulates an on-off control valve in the locomotive by the number of times corresponding to the car number of the desired car to be disconnected. In response to the on-off manipulation, the instruction air conduits in the cars are successively charged with instruction air supplied from the instruction air line and are then exhausted until finally the instruction air conduit in the desired car is charged with air. Then, air under high pressure is supplied through the actuating air supply line to air conduits in the specific car to actuate a coupler unlocking means thereby releasing the coupler.
