The wear ring assembly includes a wear ring having a central opening for receiving a journal of a railway wheel assembly and an insert including a plurality of spacers configured to extend in the opening of the wear ring to separate the wear ring from the journal. The spacers are spaced apart from each other about the wear ring. The insert may include one or more flanges that separate the wear ring from a bearing cone.

    摘要: A labyrinth seal includes a seal case with an inner-diameter leg encircling a rotation axis, and an insert fixed in the seal case and encircling the rotation axis. The labyrinth seal also includes a slinger encircling the rotation axis and wrapping around the inner-diameter leg to cooperate with the seal case to form a first part of a labyrinth path. The slinger rotates relative to the seal case. The labyrinth seal also includes a rotor that encircles the rotation axis, cooperates with the insert to form a second part of the labyrinth path, and interlocks with the insert to limit axial movement of the rotor when the rotor rotates relative to the insert. The labyrinth seal may be combined with a bearing cone, a bearing cup, and a plurality of rollers to form a roller bearing assembly.

    摘要: A wear liner installs into a bolster center bowl without the need for welding. The wear liner includes an annular wall forming an open-ring shape that defines a gap between two edges of the wall. The wear liner has one or more protrusions that extend outwardly from the annular wall. The protrusions are sized to engage with a corresponding recess in the center bowl. The wear liner is compressible by drawing the annular wall toward a closed-ring configuration so that the wear liner can be inserted into the center bowl while exerting an expansive, radially outward force. Upon expanding, and the protrusions engage with the recess or recesses in the peripheral wall of the center bowl. This engagement, along with the expansive pressure of the wear liner against the peripheral wall of the center bowl secures the wear liner in place.

A friction shoe includes a bottom base engaging and supported by a support spring, and a sloped wall engaging the sloped support face of the bolster. The friction shoe prevents bolster side wall wear.
