摘要: A method and system for administering an assessment to a student are disclosed. The expected weight of evidence may be calculated for each of one or more tasks based on a student model pertaining to a student. A task may be selected based on the calculated expected weights of evidence. The selected task may be administered to the student, and evidence may be collected regarding the selected task. The student model pertaining to the student may be updated based on the evidence. A determination of whether additional information is required to assess the student may be made. If additional information is required to assess the student, the above steps may be repeated. Otherwise, a proficiency status may be assigned to the student based on the student model.

摘要: In one embodiment, a system for dynamically tasking one or more surveillance resources includes a first logical layer identifying a collection requirement (CR) and a second logical layer identifying one or more surveillance resources in the CR. Each of the surveillance resources includes one or more sensors. The system also includes a third logical layer specifying how each of the sensors in the surveillance resources in the CR should carry out surveillance.

摘要: The present application describes a system for drying substrates which includes a chamber and an inner vessel having an upper edge positioned within the chamber. Process fluid is directed into the inner vessel and allowed to cascade over the upper edge. The upper edge of the inner vessel is lowered to thereby lower the cascade level across the surface of the substrate, while a drying vapor is introduced into the chamber. As the cascade level descends across the surface of the substrate, the substrate surface is exposed to the drying vapor. Megasonic energy may be directed into the inner vessel to accelerate drying using boundary layer thinning.

摘要: A method and apparatus for burning fuel in an annular-nozzle burner wherein a compact flame is generated by inhibiting the dispersion of fuel particles and concentrating the fuel particles in a primary combustion area having a high rate of radiant heat transfer between the fuel particles by maintaining a sufficiently high velocity of the fuel particles and causing them to undergo esentially linear flow in a direction substantially parallel to the axis of the burner.
