摘要: A system and method for an improved connective tissue repair option that reduces disadvantages of conventional fixation options. Pre-installation compression of a connective tissue graft to a reduced diameter and installation into a prepared bone tunnel having a diameter greater than the compressed diameter but less than the uncompressed diameter improves mechanical press-fixation without requiring (but may be used optionally) other mechanical fixation techniques as necessary or desired.

摘要: A system and method for improving installation of a prosthesis, particularly an acetabular cup. The system and method may include implementation of a constant velocity relative motion between a prosthesis and an installation site. For example, an installation system may be fixed relative to the installation site, with the prosthesis fixed into an initial position. The prosthesis is moved at constant speed (i.e., with minimal if any acceleration or applied impulses) relative to the installation site. That is, one or both of the prosthesis or the installation site may be in motion. Resistive forces to installation of a prosthesis may thus be reduced by maintaining the prosthesis constantly in motion relative to the installation site. Securing a processing/implanting tool directly to the installation site may offer advantages.

摘要: A system and method for allowing any surgeon, including those surgeons who perform a fewer number of a revision procedure as compared to a more experienced surgeon who performs a greater number of procedures, to provide an improved likelihood of a favorable outcome approaching, if not exceeding, a likelihood of a favorable outcome as performed by a very experienced surgeon with the revision procedure.

An engine is operable in two distinctive selectable modes including a unidirectional mode providing only extractive forces and a bidirectional mode providing both extractive and insertional forces.

摘要: A system and method for allowing any surgeon, including those surgeons who perform a fewer number of a replacement procedure as compared to a more experienced surgeon who performs a greater number of procedures, to provide an improved likelihood of a favorable outcome approaching, if not exceeding, a likelihood of a favorable outcome as performed by a very experienced surgeon with the replacement procedure, including installation and orientation of a prosthesis into tissue of a patient as well as construction of a prosthetic assembly to be installed into such tissue.

摘要: A system, method, and computer program product for allowing any surgeon, including those surgeons who perform a fewer number of a replacement procedure as compared to a more experienced surgeon who performs a greater number of procedures, to provide an improved likelihood of a favorable outcome approaching, if not exceeding, a likelihood of a favorable outcome as performed by a very experienced surgeon with the replacement procedure, such as by understanding the prosthesis installation environment (e.g., cup/cavity interface) and to provide intelligent and interactive tools and methods to standardize the installation process and provide feedback regarding a quality of insertion/installation. Force sensing is included to aid in quantifying installation of an implant, particularly a cup into a pelvic bone.
