摘要:
An electronic catheter stethoscope measures and analyzes acoustic fields and dynamic pressure variations in the gaseous or liquid fluid inside a conventional medical catheter that is positioned in a patient's urologic, digestive, reproductive, cardiovascular, neurological or pulmonary system. Measurement transducers are installed in a housing connectable to multiple preselected medical catheters. The transducers detect bodily functions that are transmitted to the preselected catheter from within the body. The transducers, housing, electrical interface and signal processing electronics are positioned outside the body.

An infrasonic stethoscope for monitoring physiological processes of a patient includes a microphone capable of detecting acoustic signals in the audible frequency bandwidth and in the infrasonic bandwidth (0.03 to 1000 Hertz), a body coupler attached to the body at a first opening in the microphone, a flexible tube attached to the body at a second opening in the microphone, and an earpiece attached to the flexible tube. The body coupler is capable of engagement with a patient to transmit sounds from the person, to the microphone and then to the earpiece.

An exemplary method includes receiving a signal from an intrathoracic vibration sensor, analyzing the signal for vibration associated with deceleration of blood flow into the left ventricle, based at least in part on the analyzing, deciding whether to call for adjustment to one or more parameters of a bi-ventricular pacing therapy. Other exemplary methods, devices, systems, etc., are also disclosed.

Reliable, real-time heart and respiratory rates are key vital signs used in evaluating the physiological status in many clinical and non-clinical settings. Measuring these vital signs generally requires superficial attachment of physically or logistically obtrusive sensors to subjects that may result in skin irritation or adversely influence subject performance. Given the broad acceptance of ingestible electronics, the approach disclosed here enables vital sign monitoring internally from the gastrointestinal tract. The large animal (porcine) experiments and a robust processing disclosed herein demonstrate the feasibility of this approach. Implementing vital sign monitoring as a stand-alone technology or in conjunction with other ingestible devices has the capacity to significantly aid telemedicine, optimize performance monitoring of athletes, military service members, and first-responders, as well as provide a facile method for rapid clinical evaluation and triage.

The present invention relates to A system for monitoring the cardiovascular system using a heart sound, which comprises a heart sound receiving means(100) for receiving a heart sound(HS); DSP (Digital Signal Processor) module(200) for converting the heart sound(HS) received from said heart-sound receiving means(100) to a digital signal; and an arithmetic section(300) for calculating phonocardiogram(PCG) from the digital signal converted in the DSP module (200) and calculating information related to a preload or information related to a cardiac contractile force or information related to a respiratory change.

The present invention relates to a method for monitoring the brain's sub-cognitive activity through otoacoustic emissions. More specifically, the present invention deals with a method and device for monitoring the brain's functions that are manifested by sub-cognitive activities. The sub cognitive activities are monitored by matching to the spectrograms of a standard evoked oto-acoustic emissions signals to monitor mismatches as indicators of normal or malfunctioning sub cognitive neurological functions. The invention relates also to a device for monitoring the brain's sub-cognitive activity through otoacoustic emissions. Systems and methods for detecting atrial tachyarrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation (AF) are disclosed. A medical system can sense a heart rate (HR) output and a hemodynamic status output. An AF detector circuit automatically determines a first detection criterion and a different second detection criterion. The first detection criterion can be more sensitive to the presence of the AF episode than the second detection criterion, and the second detection criterion can be more specific to the AF episode than the first detection criterion. The AF detector circuit detects an AF onset event using the first detection criterion and at least one of the heart rate output or the hemodynamic status output, and detects an AF termination event using the second detection criterion and at least one of the heart rate output or the hemodynamic status output.
