Abstract: A method for providing a real-time-capable simulation for control unit development, wherein the real-time-capable simulation simulates a control unit or an environment of a control unit or a combination of a control unit and an environment of the control unit. The real-time-capable simulation has a co-simulation of a real-time-capable sub-simulation and a non-real-time-capable sub-simulation that interacts with the real-time-capable sub-simulation, wherein the real-time-capable sub-simulation and the non-real-time-capable sub-simulation are designed for communication of simulation data. The real-time-capable sub-simulation has a first simulation time corresponding to real time and the non-real-time-capable sub-simulation has a virtual, second simulation time that is coupled to the first simulation time and that matches the first simulation time at the start of the real-time-capable simulation.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for creating a virtual vehicle environment includes: receiving data of a real vehicle environment; generating a first feature vector representing a respective real object by applying a second machine learning algorithm to the respective real object and storing the first feature vector; providing a plurality of stored second feature vectors representing synthetically generated objects; identifying a second feature vector having a greatest degree of similarity to the first feature vector; selecting the identified second feature vector and retrieving a stored synthetic object that is associated with the second feature vector and that corresponds to the real object or procedurally generating the synthetic object that corresponds to the real object, depending on the degree of similarity of the identified second feature vector to the first feature vector; and integrating the synthetic object into a predetermined virtual vehicle environment.

Abstract: A testing device for testing a distance sensor includes: a receiver for receiving an electromagnetic free-space wave as a receive signal; an analog-to-digital converter configured to, in a simulation mode, convert the receive signal into a sampled signal; a signal-processing unit configured to: delay the sampled signal or a modulated sampled signal to form a delayed sampled signal or a modulated delayed sampled signal; and modulate, upon the sampled signal or upon the delayed sampled signal, a predeterminable Doppler signature as a characteristic motion profile of a reflecting object to be simulated to form the modulated sampled signal or the modulated delayed sample signal; a digital-to-analog converter configured to convert the modulated or the modulated delayed sampled signal into a simulated reflected signal; and a transmitter configured to radiate the simulated reflected signal or a simulated reflected signal derived from the simulated reflected signal as an output signal.

Abstract: A method for automatically splitting visual sensor data comprising consecutive images, the method being executed by at least one processor of a host computer, the method comprising: a) assigning a scene number to each image, wherein a scene comprises a plurality of images taken in a single environment, wherein assigning a scene number to each image is performed based on a comparison between consecutive images; b) determining an accumulated effort for the images in each scene, wherein the accumulated effort is determined based on the number of objects in the images of the scene, wherein the number of objects is determined using one or more neural networks for object detection; and c) creating packages of images, wherein the images with the same scene number are assigned to the same package unless the accumulated effort of the images in the package surpasses a package threshold.

Abstract: Systems and methods for simulating gas flow dynamics of a real hydrogen fuel cell system using a computer, wherein the real hydrogen fuel cell system includes a gas container volume network having gas container volumes interconnected by gas transport lines. The method includes defining volume element and flow channel classes, defining a plurality of volume instances and a plurality of flow channel instances, for each flow channel instance, creating a first interconnection representation that defines a source container volume and a destination container volume for the flow channel instance, wherein the first interconnection representation mimics a portion of the gas container volume network of the real hydrogen fuel cell system, and simulating, using the first interconnection representation, a thermodynamic state for each of the volume instances, the thermodynamic state representing thermodynamic parameter(s) in each container volume of the gas container volume network of the real hydrogen fuel cell system.

Abstract: A signal delay device includes a demultiplexer, D∈ delay means, D additional delay means, a multiplexer, and a control unit. For each delay means, a delay input and a demultiplexer output are connected, and a delay output and a multiplexer input are connected. For each additional delay means, an additional delay input is connected to a delay signal path, and an additional delay output and a multiplexer input are connected. The demultiplexer divides an input data word stream into parallel data word streams. Each delay means will delay the data words in the parallel data word streams. Each additional delay means will delay the data words in the delayed parallel data word stream by an additional delay time. The control unit controls the multiplexer such that an output data word stream corresponding to the input data word stream with a time delay is output.

Abstract: A method for simulating different traffic situations for an autonomous or semiautonomous test vehicle. The method includes the simulated driving of the test vehicle through a simulated road network, and the simulated randomized driving of other vehicles through the simulated road network. The method also includes the capture of vehicle driving parameters. Further according to the method, there is a determination of whether a predefined traffic situation is satisfied by the test vehicle and at least one of the other vehicles, the at least one other vehicle being within a test zone around the test vehicle. Where the predefined traffic situation is satisfied, randomized driving of the at least one other vehicle can be stopped, and the at least one other vehicle can be made to perform a predetermined driving maneuver. The predetermined driving maneuver can provoke a reaction by the test vehicle.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for merging architecture data that are exchanged between an architecture definition tool and a behavior modeling tool includes: opening a first file with first architecture data and a second file with second architecture data in a comparison tool; comparing the first architecture data with the second architecture data to obtain a first list of differences; retrieving at least one combination rule, wherein the at least one combination rule comprises an identification rule for identifying a difference and a change to be applied to the identified difference; ascertaining a second list of differences that fulfill the identification rule and removing the differences of the second list from the first list; and applying the change defined in the at least one combination rule to each difference in the second list.

Abstract: A method for monitoring message packets that are exchanged between at least two control units. The message packets are concatenated in a data stream and each have an identifier, a payload, and a length specification of the payload described by a data item of predefined word size. The at least two control units are connected by a distributor. The distributor is connected by a first distributor port to a first of the at least two control units, is connected by a second distributor port to a second of the at least two control units, and is connected by a third distributor port to a computer system. The data stream flows through the first and distributor port for communication between the first node and the second node. The computer system has a memory, and information on the respective identifiers of the message packets is stored in the memory.
