Abstract: A software defined network controller receives from a radio access network access point an attach request generated by a user equipment that includes a user equipment identification and an IP address for the radio access network access point. The controller assigns a temporary identification to the user equipment and sends a modified attach request including the temporary identification, and application server identification and an application server IP address to the radio access network access point. The controller configures a forwarding table associated with the radio access network access point so that the access point forwarding table matches the user equipment identification, the application server identification and the application server IP address. The controller configures a service edge creation environment function forwarding table so that the forwarding table matches the user equipment identification mapped to the radio access network access point IP address and instructs an action so that packet traffic to and from the user equipment is processed without an explicit connection oriented signaling protocol.

Abstract: Node identifiers can be assigned to packet core policy nodes and directly routed to a diameter routing agent (DRA) and application functions (AFs) within a call processing message that is employed to establish an application service. Such a policy node identity will be received by Application Functions, UEs and/or intermediate message routers during the initial establishment of a packet data session so that they can refer to the policy node entity directly in the sub-sequent call processing flows related the established session, instead of querying a relational database which can be complex to maintain with multi-million correlation records. As an example, the policy node identifiers can be configurable and can comprise a hostname of the policy nodes, address data associated with the policy nodes, or a defined numerical value that maps to the hostname of the policy nodes.

Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards selectively steering wireless network data packet traffic to a network edge cloud, which reduces backhaul bandwidth and facilitates ultra-low latency communications. In one aspect, upon receiving a request for data communication by a user equipment in the wireless network, location information is used to override a centralized access point name (e.g., 4G serving gateway/packet gateway, S/PGW, or 5G user plane function) with an edge-located access point name (edge 4G S/PGW or edge 5G user plane function). This facilitates the data communication between the user equipment and an edge-located access point device associated with the edge-located access point name.

The method also includes analyzing, by the server, the plurality of emergency alerts to determine an emergency type of each of the plurality of emergency alerts. The method includes categorizing, by the server, the plurality of emergency alerts based on the emergency type of each of the plurality of emergency alerts. The method includes prioritizing a first category of the plurality of emergency alerts and consolidating the plurality of emergency alerts of the first category into a consolidated alert. The method includes causing the consolidated alert to be provided to an emergency responder.

One of an uplink user data packet comprising an origination address of a second interface of the user plane, a downlink user data packet comprising a destination address of the second interface of the user plane or both are received, by way of the user plane. One of the default downlink forwarding address, the currently used downlink forwarding address or both can be modified based on the uplink origination address, the destination address or both. Modification of the default downlink forwarding address, the currently used downlink forwarding address or both results in a redirection of an associated packet flow within the user plane.
