摘要： An image forming device such as a copier has separate upper, middle and lower units which are mutually openable. The axes of rotation around which the upper unit can rotate with respect to the middle unit and the middle unit with respect to the lower unit are symmetrically disposed and engaging and locking mechanisms are provided such that when one of the pairs of mutually openable units is opened, the other pair is prevented from opening. Thus, the overall equalibrium of the device is not lost even if both pairs of units are opened.

The melting point of the auxiliary member is higher than the melting points of the shaft and fixture. The shaft and fixture are welded to each other with the auxiliary member interposed between them.Because the melting point of the auxiliary member is higher than the melting points of the shaft and fixture, this member is not influenced by heat when the shaft and fixture are welded thermally to each other.

摘要： A fixing device cleaning device of the present invention is provided on a fixing device which includes: a heating member heated by heating means; and a pressing member pressed against the heating member at a predetermined contact pressure, and a recording sheet is sandwiched by a pressing section of the heating member and a pressing section of the pressing member, and developer on the recording sheet is fixed, and the fixing device cleaning device includes a cleaning member, formed in a scraper shape, which is pressed against the heating member or the pressing member so as to remove the developer from a surface of the heating member or the pressing member, wherein the cleaning member includes one or more opening sections in a vicinity of a contact point with respect to a cleaning target surface of the heating member or the pressing member. Thus, foreign substances scraped by the cleaning member move to a surface (a rear surface with respect to a surface which is in contact with the cleaning target surface) of the cleaning member via the opening sections, so that the foreign substances are not deposited on a gap between the cleaning member and the cleaning target surface, thereby preventing the deposited foreign substances from adhering to the cleaning target surface again.

摘要： A document feeder includes: a document detecting device arranged on the top of the copier body, for detecting a document inserted from the outside; a feed roller arranged adjacent to the document detecting device, on the top of the copier body, for feeding an inserted document into a space between the original table and the original cover, in response to the detection of a document by the document detecting device; and an original cover lifting device arranged on the top of the copier body, for lifting the original cover to create a gap between the original table and the original cover, in response to the detection of a document by the document detecting device. Alternatively, the feed roller further has a rotary cam on its shaft, so that the cam rotates to lift the original cover up as the feed roller rotates in the document feeding direction. Then, after the document is fed in place, the feed roller is reversely rotated in a constant time, whereby the document cover is sunk to press the document onto the original table.
