The present invention is related to an apparatus and/or a method for image encoding and/or decoding using inter-layer combined intra prediction. The apparatus comprises a reference sample generation module generating a reference sample by using at least one of samples which is included in the reconstructed block neighboring the target block of the higher layer, a sample included in the co-located block of the lower layer corresponding to the target block of the higher layer, a sample included in the co-located block of the lower layer corresponding to the reconstructed block neighboring the target block of the higher layer, and a sample included in a certain specific block of the lower layer; a prediction performance module generating a prediction value for the target block using the reference sample; and a prediction value generation module generating a final prediction value for the prediction target block using the prediction value.

An image decoding method according to the present invention comprises the steps of: determining an intra prediction mode of a current block; and generating a prediction block of the current block by performing prediction on the basis of the intra prediction mode of the current block. An intra prediction mode for a luminance block of the current block is derived by means of a most probable mode (MPM) list comprises a plurality of MPM candidates. The MPM list can be constructed independently from as to whether a plurality of reference sample lines are used and whether a divided prediction is performed by means of a sub-block.

The method of decoding the image includes structuring a motion information candidate list of a current block, selecting a first motion information candidate used for prediction of a first subblock in the current block from the motion information candidate list, selecting a second motion information candidate used for prediction of a second subblock in the current block from the motion information candidate list, generating a prediction sample of the first subblock by performing inter prediction with respect to the first subblock based on the first motion information candidate, and generating a prediction sample of the second subblock by performing inter prediction with the second subblock based on the second motion information candidate. The first and second motion information candidates are any one of candidates in first and second prediction directions in the motion information candidate list, respectively.
