    摘要: Circuits and methods are disclosed for reducing interference from transmitter leakage in a radio transceiver. An exemplary method for reducing interference from transmitter leakage in a radio transceiver comprises downconverting, filtering, and sampling a radio frequency signal comprising a desired signal and a transmitter leakage signal to obtain a sampled signal of interest. The method further comprises generating a sampled distortion signal estimate that estimates one or more distortion products of the transmitter leakage signal, such as a squared amplitude obtained from a square-law device or corresponding digital function. Finally, the method comprises combining the sampled distortion signal estimate with the sampled signal of interest to obtain interference-reduced signal samples. In some embodiments, this may comprise correlating the sampled distortion signal estimate with the sampled signal of interest to determine a scaling factor, scaling the sampled distortion signal estimate with the scaling factor, and subtracting the scaled distortion signal estimate from the sampled signal of interest to obtain the interference-reduced signal samples.

    摘要: A half-duplex mobile terminal having first and second receiver branches connected, during a receive mode, to respective antennas, is disclosed. One of the antennas is selectively connected to the first receiver branch or to a transmitter circuit. The first antenna is connected to the first receiver branch during a first interval, during which interval data is detected using outputs from both the first and second receiver branches. The first antenna is disconnected from the first receiver branch at the end of the first interval, and, during a second interval immediately following the first interval, data is detected using the output of the second receiver branch. A portion of the incoming transmission that arrives during the transition between the receive mode and transmit mode in a half-duplex transceiver is thus received and detected, improving performance of the half-duplex transceiver.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for frequency synthesis in a transceiver are based on providing a primary frequency synthesizer configured to synthesize a receiver frequency signal from a receiver reference frequency signal, and providing an offset frequency synthesizer configured to synthesize a transmitter frequency signal from the receiver frequency signal using fractional-N division, which allows it to operate at an intermediate frequency that is a non-integer multiple of the receiver frequency signal. That arrangement enables non-integer duplex frequency distances between desired receive and transmit frequencies. The primary frequency synthesizer also may be operated as a fractional-N frequency synthesizer, meaning that the receiver frequency signal may have a non-integer relationship to the receiver reference frequency signal. Configuring the primary and offset frequency synthesizers to operate with fractional-N frequency synthesis allows independent frequency tuning/optimization of the primary and secondary frequency synthesizers.

The phase-locked loop further includes one or more circuit elements that maintain an operating point of the phase detector such that, for a predetermined range of both positive and negative phase differences between the reference clock signal and the feedback signal, the output signal is generated as a substantially linear function of the phase difference between the reference clock signal and the feedback signal.

    摘要: A proximity detector for use in a mobile telephone having at least a microphone and a loudspeaker operatively connected to a signal processor is presented. The proximity detector includes data processing and control modules having a module for controlling the signal processor for activating the loudspeaker to reproduce an acoustic control signal. A correlator correlates a control signal received directly by the microphone and a control signal being reflected from a user of the telephone and then received by the microphone to determine the distance between the telephone and the user. A signal level controller controls the signal processor to vary the signal level of an audible signal reproduced by the loudspeaker proportionally to the determined distance between the telephone and the user.
