    摘要: An image display apparatus is disclosed, which is small and has a wide view angle. The apparatus comprises an optical system which introduces light beams from first and second image display elements to first and second observation regions. The system has a plane-symmetric structure whose plane of symmetry is a plane passing between the first and second observation regions. The system introduces the light beam from the first image display element located in a first area with respect to the plane of symmetry to the first observation region via a reflection on a surface located in a second area after a reflection on a surface located in the first area, and introduces the light beam from the second image display element to the second observation region via a reflection on a surface located in the first area after a reflection on a surface located in the second area.

    摘要: Disclosed is a compact image displaying apparatus which is high in light utilizing efficiency. The image displaying apparatus is provided with a light source, a scanning member for two-dimensionally scanning with light from the light source, and an optical system for directing the light deflected by the scanning member for scanning to an observer. The optical system is provided with an optical element in which a plurality of optical surfaces including refracting surfaces and internal reflecting surfaces are formed on a medium. The light deflected by the scanning member for scanning forms a two-dimensional image on a predetermined surface through a portion of the plurality of optical surfaces formed in the optical element. The plurality of optical surfaces formed in the optical element are disposed so that an effective area of the incidence surface of the optical element and an effective area of the internal reflecting surface may not overlap each other.

    摘要: This invention provides a method of extracting corresponding points from plural images with improved reliability and with a shortened process time. In the method of this invention, the extraction of the corresponding points in plural images is achieved by determining the right-side epipolar line, on which the corresponding points should be positioned, by calculation, and transferring candidate corresponding points, obtained on the right-side image by a conventional method for extracting the corresponding points, onto the points of shortest distance on thus determined right-side epipolar line.
