摘要： A color image processing method for retrieving a color feature descriptor for describing color features of an image is provided. The color image processing method includes the steps of (a) obtaining color vectors of an input image, (b) classifying the color vectors to obtain dominant colors of the input image and the ratios thereof, and (c) representing the dominant colors and the ratios thereof as a color feature descriptor of the input image. The color image processing method is applied to an object-based image processing method, thereby allowing fast search and retrieval of multi-media contents.

摘要： A method and apparatus for restricting the use of a disc are provided. In this method, first, lead-in data is read out from a loaded disc. Then, a user key is read out from a lead-in area of the disc. Thereafter, the user key undergoes authentication based on a user key received from a host. The authentication is performed by comparing a random number produced by a disc drive with a decrypted random number obtained by the disc drive decrypting a random number encrypted by the host. Accordingly, the use of the disc by an unauthorized third person is restricted, thus preventing a leakage of personal information and a protection of the copyrights of data.

摘要： A digital rights management (DRM) conversion method and apparatus are provided. The DRM conversion method includes: (a) obtaining a first content key for the first content and a second content key for the second content through reciprocal authentication between a DRM conversion apparatus and a DRM conversion server, the DRM conversion apparatus converting the first content into the second content; and (b) converting the first content into the second content wherein the DRM conversion apparatus is disconnected from the DRM conversion server. Accordingly, it is possible to transmit content between devices using different DRM systems even offline with the use of a conversion manager (CM) that performs authentication and DRM conversion operations.

摘要： An adaptive search method in feature vector space which can quickly search the feature vector space indexed based on approximation for a feature vector having features similar to a query vector according to a varying distance measurement is provided. The adaptive search method includes the steps of (a) performing a similarity measurement on a given query vector within the feature vector space, and (b) applying search conditions limited by the result of the similar measurement obtained in the step (a) and performing a changed similarity measurement on the given query vector. According to the adaptive search method, the number of candidate approximation regions is reduced during a varying distance measurement such as an on-line retrieval, which improves the search speed.

The method of copying encrypted digital data includes encrypting a first media key block to be used for decryption of the encrypted digital data using a predetermined key of a second information storage medium and storing the encrypted digital data and the encrypted first media key block in the second information storage medium. Security of data encryption is heightened by not discarding an encryption key used for an initial encryption, encrypting the encryption key used for initial encryption using another encryption key used for a second encryption, and storing the encrypted encryption key with the data. Also, since unnecessary decryption and encryption of data are not repeated, the time required for copying data is reduced, and since data is transferred between apparatuses in an encrypted state, a security level is higher.

摘要： A digital image segmentation method and device is provided. The method includes the steps of grouping an image stream into a plurality of continuous frame groups, setting one arbitrary frame as an I frame and the others as P frames in each group, segmenting the I frame into a plurality of regions, and segmenting the P frames by obtaining motion vectors, using motion prediction, of the segmented I frame regions, respectively, with respect to each of the P frames, by moving the segmented I frame regions by the respective motion vectors, and by setting the moved I frame regions as segmented P frame regions. Accordingly, the segmentation of the I frame is applied to the P frame segmentation, and a conventional segmentation process consuming excessive time with respect to all frames does not need to be performed. Thus, rapid segmentation can be performed.
