    摘要: The prism reflector installed immediately above an indicator's display surface consists of a prism and a flange portion that is flush with one surface of the prism and which extends from the periphery of that surface. The surface of the prism and the flange portion form a reflecting surface. A reflector plate is arranged to face the reflecting surface of the prism reflector and has a concave surface, whose light axis is inclined with respect to the reflecting surface of the prism reflector toward the thicker side of the prism. Light from the indicator's display enters the prism, is refracted as it leaves the reflecting surface, and travels toward the reflector plate's concave surface, which reflects the incident light back toward the reflecting surface of the prism reflector, which then reflects it toward the driver's viewing point. Because the light travels back and forth between the reflecting surface and the reflector plate, a long light path is obtained for effective remote display while keeping the apparatus compact. The reflector plate's concave surface enlarges the indicator display image, so that a large virtual image can be formed at a remote location from the driver.

    摘要: The object of the present invention is to provide a display apparatus for a vehicle in which luminance of the display pattern of letters, graduations, a pointer, and the like are increased without unevenness in the luminance but also the distance between a front face of a pointer plate and a rear face of the movement of the display apparatus is shortened. A circular pointer plate with a transmitting slit is disposed on front a portion of the display apparatus. An outer periphery of the pointer plate is toothed and is engaged with a driving gear fixed to a driving shaft of the movement to be directly driven by the movement. A dial is disposed on a back face of the pointer plate. A portion where the dial overlaps the pointer plate, and other portion for graduations and the like which surrounds the portion are formed as light transmitting portion, but, other portions are formed as light intercepting portion. Behind the pointer plate is installed a discharge lamp with a reflector.

    摘要: A display apparatus for automobiles which enhances the quality of the displayed image by a shading portion which prevents external light from being observed. A display apparatus for automobiles according to the present invention includes an indicator, a reflection member having a reflection surface which opposes a display surface of the indicator and a light transmissible reflection member arranged between the indicator and the reflection member. The light transmissible reflecting member transmits display light of the indicator and reflects reflected light from the reflection member to a driver's side. A meter hood extends to the driver's side of the reflection member. A shading portion extends below the reflection surface of the reflection member on the meter hood side of the reflection member.

    摘要: An automotive display system for a vehicle comprises a display having a display screen, a reflecting mirror disposed with its reflecting surface facing the display screen of the display, and a prism disposed between the display and the reflecting mirror. Light rays emanated from the display enter the prism through a first surface of the prism, are transmitted through the prism and fall on the reflecting surface of the reflecting mirror and are reflected by the reflecting mirror. The light rays reflected by the reflecting mirror travel along a path coinciding with or nearly coinciding with the path of travel of the light rays incident on the reflecting surface of the reflecting mirror and are reflected again by the second surface of the prism toward the driver's eye. The light rays travel from the second surface of the prism to and from the reflecting mirror through a comparatively long optical path in a relatively small space for effective remote displaying. Thus, the automotive display system can be formed in a compact construction.
