Abstract: A main controller of an HUD is configured to: acquire road surface information of a front road surface based on a plurality of measurement points on the front road surface, which is detected by a road surface detection sensor mounted on a vehicle with the HUD and is positioned forward of a traveling direction of the vehicle; calculate, by using the road surface information, a virtual image plane position on a virtual image plane where a virtual image of a display object is displayed, which is a display position of the virtual image for displaying the virtual image along the front road surface; and calculate a display position of a display surface within an image display device, which corresponds to the virtual image plane position, so as to output, to the image display device, a control signal for displaying the display object on the display position of the display surface.

Abstract: A head-up display system for a vehicle is provided. The vehicle has a windshield, a vehicle front and a vehicle rear. The head-up display system includes a first image generation device and an optical element. The first image generation device is configured to provide a first light. The optical element is configured to adjust a transmission direction of the first light. The vehicle front and the vehicle rear are connected along a first direction. Along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, a first headlight and a second headlight are configured along the second direction and at the vehicle front. A minimum distance between the first headlight and a driver seat is less than a minimum distance between the second headlight and the driver seat. A distance between the first image generation device and the second headlight is different from a distance between the first image generation device and the first headlight.

Abstract: A control system for a compactor is disclosed. The control system can include any one or combination of one or more position sensors, a steering system, a control interface and a controller. The controller can be in communication with at least the control interface and the one or more position sensors. The controller can be configured to receive data recording a position of the compactor when physically operating the compactor along at least a portion of the desired boundary of a compaction area, determine from the data a virtual boundary of the compaction area corresponding to the position of the compactor when physically operating the compactor along the desired boundary of the compaction area, and generate at least a first work plan for operating the compactor to compact in the compaction area up to the virtual boundary.

Abstract: A display device includes a housing, an electro-optic layer, a display to display at least a portion of a rearward image, and an actuator to switch the electro-optic layer between first and second postures. In the first posture, the display displays the portion of the rearward image. In the second posture, the reflectivity of the incident light varies between at least first and second values based on at least one of a first illuminance or a second illuminance, and the second value is larger than the first value. In the first posture, the reflectivity of the incident light is equal to or more than the second value. The first illuminance indicates brightness around a vehicle and is detected by a sensor. The second illuminance indicates intensity of light emitted on a front surface of the display device and is detected by another sensor.

Abstract: A driver assistance system aids a driver in charging one or more trailer-mounted batteries in a trailer being towed by an electrified passenger vehicle. Many existing charging facilities for electric vehicles have charging stalls with a layout configured to accommodate single vehicles. Charging facilities having drive-through or elongated charging stalls able to accommodate larger vehicles which are towing an electrified trailer are much scarcer. When attempting to charge a trailer-mounted battery in a charging stall meant for a single vehicle, it may be necessary to unhitch (i.e., decouple) the trailer while in the charging stall so that the passenger vehicle does not block the aisles of a charging station. Sensors in the vehicle perform a sensor sweep of a selected charging stall, and after unhitching, the trailer uses an independent drive system to park itself in the selected charging stall using driving commands which are calculated from the sensor sweep.

Abstract: An information display device includes a display unit configured to display information about an object such that the information about the object at least partially overlaps with forward view of a user, and a controller configured to control display of the display unit. The controller is configured to estimate or acquire a prospective moving direction of the object, acquire a sight-line frequency representing a frequency with which a sight-line of the user is directed to the object within a prescribed period, determine whether the sight-line frequency is equal to or more than a prescribed frequency threshold, and cause the display unit to display the prospective moving direction of the object at least on condition that the controller determines that the sight-line frequency is less than the frequency threshold.

Abstract: A head-up display device (HUD) includes a sound analysis portion that determines whether a specific alarm is involved in sound signals from microphones 40a to 40d to collect ambient sound around a vehicle. When a specific alarm has been detected as determined by the sound analysis portion, an image display unit displays icons, representing the specific alarm. The specific alarm includes a siren sound given from an emergency vehicle and a horn sound given from a general vehicle and the sound analysis portion analyzes frequency of input sound signals and thereby determines whether the sound is the specific alarm.
