    摘要: A magnetic tape cassette incorporates therein a braking member which brakes reel hubs when the magnetic tape cassette is not in use, so that the reel hubs are prevented from being rotated. The braking member can be operated to release the reel hubs from their locked conditions from any side of the upper and lower parts of the cassette casing. Thus, the magnetic tape cassette of this invention can correspond with a tape cassette of the double-sided use kind, in which a cassette casing is turned over and the recording and reproduction can be performed in a cited fashion.

    摘要: A cleaning method and cleaning system using an organic solvent such as Freon. A cleaning tank is closed after an article to be cleaned is placed within the cleaning tank. The solvent is supplied to the cleaning tank from a solvent storage tank. The article is cleaned with the supplied solvent. After the cleaning, the solvent is discharged in liquid state from the cleaning tank while vapor of the solvent which remains in the cleaning tank is discharged to a condenser to condense the vapor. The condensed solvent is returned from the condenser into the solvent storage tank. After the liquid solvent and vapor solvent are discharged from the cleaning tank, the cleaned article is taken out from the cleaning tank. The condenser is incorporated in a distiller. A solvent vapor supplying unit is connected to the cleaning tank. The thus provided closed system prevents release of Freon to the atmosphere.

    摘要: An ionomer resin having a weight-average molecular weight of at least 5,000 and containing three specific repeating units as the primary components, said units being arranged randomly and linearly with the total proportion of the two units being 0.001 to 45 mol %, is obtained by copolymerizing ethylene with an unsaturated carboxylic acid in the presence of a Lewis acid, using as a catalyst a chromium compound and a compound of a metal of Groups I to V in the periodic table and permitting a compound of a metal of Group I, II, III, IVA or VIII in the periodic table to react with the resulting copolymer. When an unsaturated carboxylic ester is used, the resulting copolymer is hydrolyzed or thermally decomposed.

    摘要: A method for surface treating of thin substrates such as semiconductor wafers, wherein a semiconductor wafer formed with relatively deep but transversely minute trenches on its surface is horizontally placed on a spinner in a chamber with its trenched surface directed up, ultraviolet light is then emitted onto the surface of the wafer to dissolve impurities sticking in the trenches, and thereafter etchant is spouted from a nozzle to the trenched surface of the wafer being spinned about a vertical axis at a high speed. Next, the inside of the chamber is subjected to a lower pressure than atmospheric pressure, and atmospheric pressure is restored after the lapse of a predetermined time. Thus a series of these steps of etchant supplying, pressure reducing, and pressure recovering are carried out until the complete entrance of the etchant into the interior surfaces of the trenches is effected, so as to even or smooth the interior surfaces and, finally the wafer is treated with rinsing, heating and drying steps.

    摘要: A magnetic tape cassette of very small type having a front lid pivotably secured to the cassette housing so as to open or close a front opening portion, and a guide portion arranged on the front wall of the lid at an asymmetrical position so as to extend in the longitudinal direction. Thus, when a number of tape cassettes are accommodated within a cassette magazine, the guide portions function as a guide so that all the tape cassettes with tracks A and B aligned in the same direction can be accommodated within the cassette magazine. Also, the tape cassette of the invention can be positively loaded on a recording and/or reproducing apparatus from a desired surface side. Further, since the guide portion is formed on the lid, mechanical strength of the cassette housing can be prevented from being decreased and the indication label attaching area on the top wall of the cassette housing is prevented from being restricted.

    摘要: The invention provides an improvement in the method for the preparation of phenyl pyruvic acid by the reaction of benzyl chloride and carbon monoxide in a liquid reaction medium in the presence of a cobalt carbonyl as the catalyst. In the inventive method, the reaction is performed in the presence of calcium hydroxide and the reaction medium is a binary system composed of water and an organic solvent capable of dissolving the catalyst and not freely miscible with water. The reaction can proceed even under normal pressure and the desired product can be readily recovered in the form of precipitates of the calcium salt while the catalyst dissolved in the organic phase after completion of the reaction can be recycled and re-used as such in the next run so that the costs for the catalyst regeneration in the prior art can be entirely saved.
