    摘要: New augmented reality display systems are provided, some of which incorporate “shifted-reality” techniques. In some embodiments, an augmented reality display system includes a matrix of light-augmenting pixels within a variable-transmission, semi-transparent screen (e.g., an augmented reality headset, comprising a semi-transparent L.E.D. screen) and creates redirected, attenuated and augmented light and shading to form and alter virtual objects. In some embodiments with a plurality of angle-alterable, shiftable sources (e.g., light-focusing and -directing pixels), which aids in creating virtual, 3D objects of greater realism than conventional 3D imaging methods, and aids in reducing the appearance of other objects or conditions. In some aspects, existing images and objects viewed through a screen may be shifted in perspective for an observer, and enhanced and overlaid with effects and demonstrative information related to viewable objects and a surrounding environment. In some embodiments, a set of holding structures, weights and/or magnets associated with a drinking vessel applies holding force(s) to ice within a drinking vessel. In some embodiments, a beverage is then poured over the ice, at least partially submerging it and chilling the beverage. In some method embodiments, suction-molds with customized shapes and designs are used as the water is frozen within the drinking vessel, creating ice sculptures affixed to the inside of the drinking vessel. In other aspects, holding pressure is maintained even if the frozen water partially melts. In some embodiments, a control system within weights or the drinking vessel implements lighting effects, cooling effects, and gas or other infusions, into the beverage.

    摘要: The present invention includes new medical techniques involving radiation and electromagnetic actuation of reagents deployed and directed within bodily fluids (e.g., the bloodstream, digestive tract, or lymph ducts) of a patient. In one aspect of the invention, a medical reagent and/or particle is provided with multiple dipoles, oriented differently in three-dimensional space, allowing a remote control system to drive the acceleration and three-dimensional orientation of the medical agent or particle according to a three-dimensional path. In some embodiments, the medical reagent and/or particle is energized remotely to an activation energy level, and then driven into the treatment target. The design of each small-scale machine may include different sub-devices and electrostatic charges or magnetic dipoles, at different surface or internal locations. In some aspects, the sub-devices include actuable housings and other sub-devices, to deliver drugs or other factors at specific locations commanded by the control system or a user.

    摘要: New fastening devices and techniques are provided. A self-bonding cord is provided with unlimited possible divisions and self-bonding points. In some embodiments, radially-emanating columns with barbs for self-bonding are provided, where the barbs are angled to promote holding as they are spread by the interposition of other columns during self-bonding of the cord. The columns also define the outer surface of the cord, having outer gripping features that create an outer surface of the cord. In other embodiments, a cord has a memory and conformational structure providing elastic bundling, and encouraging self-bonding and wrapping—with semi-circular semi-ports and outer holding ridges spaced at intervals corresponding with the contact profile of the cord. In a method of use, one wraps various items in at least one loop of the cord, and presses loose ends of the cord together, creating a strong, reversible self-bond.     摘要: New techniques for establishing communications connections for computer systems are provided. In some aspects, a new technique for rapidly establishing a uniform, secure wireless peripheral device network is provided. In some embodiments of the invention, the secure peripheral device network is activated by physical docking and/or interlocking, without any use of a wired network connection, based on precise proximity and location information. In other embodiments, a secure, encrypted peripheral device network is established by a system in response to terminating a wired network connection, easing the transition from wired to wireless connection status, and easing the creation of wireless networks. The resulting wireless networks may also be more secure than other forms of wireless networks, using a new form of physically-isolated negotiation for encryption keys, based on physical features and limits of a peripheral device interface.

    摘要: New forms of self-cleansing surfaces are provided. In some embodiments, a self-cleansing surface is provided, which is configured to be handled by a human user, as a user interface. The self-cleansing surface may comprise one or more surface device(s), with surface-covering pores configured to release a cleanser upon physical contact or actuation of the user interface, and configured to clean the self-cleansing surface. In some embodiments, the release is mediated by a physical trigger. In some embodiments, the surface device includes a control system that monitors surface handling with a sensor, and mediates the release with an actuator. The invention may be provided on or in any form of user interface that may be physically touched by a user. For example, in some embodiments, the invention may be provided on door handles or controls, appliance handles or controls, and any other user interfaces bearing a risk of carrying microbes.
