Abstract:
An enhanced strength screw-type, self-tapping masonry anchor bolt for fastening a fixture or other attachment to masonry in which a hole is drilled to receive the anchor. The anchor is provided with a shank having a root section surrounded by at least one helical male cutting thread whose crest diameter exceeds the diameter of the hole whereby when the anchor is screwed into the hole, the cutting thread then cuts a female thread in the bank of the hole to mechanically retain the anchor therein to impart to the anchor a holding power that resists axial pull-out forces. The cutting thread has a leading face that is arcuate or radial (circular) and a trailing edge that is flat and disposed essentially normal to the shank of the bolt. Also provided is a masonry anchor for use with thin-walled masonry articles such as cinder blocks which is essentially a sleeve of a durable polymeric material.
Abstract:
A wall anchor is provided and includes a wing manually urgeable through a substrate, a cutting element attached to the wing at a leading side thereof to cut through substrate material upon the manual urging, a strap assembly rotatably coupled to the wing and configured to be manually gripped and to have a pulling force exerted thereon to thereby urge the wing against the substrate and a cap disposed to be movable along the strap assembly, respective engagements of a member with the wing and the cap being sufficient to draw the wing and the cap toward one another.
Abstract:
An anchor stud includes a stud portion including a body portion having a first end that extends to a second end though an intermediate portion. A wedge member is operatively coupled to the second end of the stud portion. The wedge member includes a body having a generally frustoconical profile and is formed from a material having a Vickers hardness greater than about 220 HV. A sleeve element is positioned on the stud portion at the second end adjacent the wedge member. The sleeve element is formed from a material having a Vickers hardness greater than about 220 HV.
Abstract:
A wall anchor system includes an anchor member installable into a hollow wall. The anchor member includes a body having a first end that extends to a second end through an intermediate portion. The body includes an internal passage having a fastener retaining feature provided adjacent the first end. A fastener member is operatively engageable with the anchor member.
Abstract:
An adjustable wall hanger includes a body including an outer edge that defines a web. An adjustment feature is formed in the web. The adjustment feature includes a plurality of adjustment zones that define a corresponding plurality of orientation positions for the body. The adjustable wall hanger being selectively positionable to support an object on a wall in one of the plurality of orientation positions.
Abstract:
An anchor is provided and includes a hub having a trailing edge, and first and second jaws, each including a body pivotably coupled to the hub and an actuator to induce pivoting of the body, the jaws being initially proximal with the bodies cooperatively forming a lead profile such that the jaws and the hub are configured to penetrate a substrate, separable responsive to fastener insertion through the hub whereby the fastener exerts a first force on the actuators causing splay pivoting of the bodies, and at least partially closeable responsive to continued fastener insertion whereby the fastener exerts a second force on the actuators causing reverse pivoting of the bodies to draw the trailing edge toward the actuators about the substrate.
Abstract:
A wall anchor is provided and includes a nose cone structure including a body and a primary cone, which is rotatably coupled to the body and manually urgeable to penetrate a substrate, a detent assembly, disposed on the nose cone structure, which is engageable to maintain the primary cone in a first position and a trigger integrally coupled to the nose cone structure and actuatable to selectively disengage the detent assembly such that the primary cone is permissively rotatable about the body into a second position.
Abstract:
An anchor bolt for use in a hole in a base material is provided and includes a stud, a sleeve disposed about the stud and a retainer nut, disposed in operable communication with the stud and having a dimension measured from a central axis of the hole that is at least as large as a corresponding dimension of the hole.
